You know it, I know it. Sure, youre all watching that naruto garbage, and maybe some harem anime, but deep in your hearts you know its all about slayers. How could you not love the cast?

Lina. The leader, the comic, the heart and soul of the super adventure bunch. Lina Inverse fucks up the stereotypes and dragon slaves the competition. Eats a shitload.

Gourry. The ultimate dumb travelling companion, but fucking dependable. Will go toe to toe for gods. Awesome. His idiot nature leads to great episodes! Eats almost as much as Lina...almost.

Amelia loves Justice with the fevor of a jehova's witness. Fights for justice, and justice, and her dad, and justice. Her dads a freak, and is awesome too. YES! My favorite character. Her misguided journey for ultimate justice has lead to some extrodinarily bizzare mishaps and acts of bravery.

Zelgadis started out pretty blah, but thanks to a mid-season turn around turned into a character that stood even with the entire crew. His mastery of both magic and swordsmanship has got the gang out of many a shitty situation. He also has a head full of smarts ;P female fans love this guy for some reason.

Joined the crew in the third television series and they were all the better for it. She served a perfect opposite for Xellos. Her ability to change into a dragon is hilarious and usually only summoned when she's angry for some irrational reason. Carry's a big ass fucking mace and that rocks.

Xellos kicks ass, thats all there is to say. Looks sorta dumb, but its all a front for being a complete and utter badass monster.

The cast is the show, and the characters mentioned above are part of a very huge damned cast of greatness. CHECK OUT SLAYERS YOU FUCKERS!

Ignore naga tho, jesus.

The Slayers fans who frequent my store terrify me. There's never someone who is just a fan, they always know like every scene word by word and are just scary.

I've never watched it myself because I dislike the artstyle.

I love the show, but I dont talk about it too much. Its just if I had to only have one anime.

Ive seen the tv series many times over but my poor memory allows me to forget things pretty quickly.

Caught a pretty heavy chunk of Slayers when they were showing it on the international channel a while back...it was good stuff. Xellos and Amelia's dad were able to crack me up pretty consistently.

I think I ended up missing the last few episodes to each story arch though...

I really like the show and the cast but well, I find Lina annoying and she's the center of the show. Otherwise, good action and great comedy thanks to Amelia and that fox dude in season 3.

Try's Arc ruled and the story seemed more mature. God I love this series. Ending it at Try was perfect.

OAV > TV for me thanks. If only because Lina has an equally, yet different type of annoying partner as a foil. The TV series is rather blah as a whole though. Next got REALLY good at the end though. That's bout it for me though.

Edit: I like the movies honestly. Set in OAV universe. Good, quick and to the point stuff with good animation. I haven't seen Premium with the TV cast in it though.

Shinji may have been annoying to you, but all the traits you listed don't amount to being annoying. While Lina (sp?) was made to be annoying (in I guess a funny way, but I found it more annoying than funny).

Lina pretty much uses everything she can to get her way, from acting coy to blasting the landscape. It makes the show funny as hell, but if you like your anime broads all blushing and Belldandy or all Rei and emotionally busted, you'll probably loathe Lina. I don't get how you can fundamentally hate a short, scrawny hyperactive megalomaniacal redhead with a strong sense of moral relativity, but hey: some folks can't imagine why I despise the passive Belldandy anime archetype so much, either.

Plus the endless riffs on DnD geekdom are still funny to us ubernerds.

Actually, kinda funny, Rei and Lain are probabaly the only two female anime characters I liked. Well actually, I liked Asuka too, just post episode 17 Asuka where she wasn't 1 dimensional.

For some reason, most female anime characters annoy me.

I don't usually like female anime characters, either, because they're either lingerie-modelling fan service or passive pedophilic fantasies invented by sexually starved mangaka. Lina is neither, wich is what makes her entertaining.
