Has anyone had success lifting up the amfilm SP and getting it to settle back down appropriately?
Hours after thinking I had a perfect application, I noticed a small small thin fiber (probably from the dry cloth) on the right side of my screen. Honestly don't notice it much while I'm playing, but if I think about it I can quickly move my eyes and find it.
I'm trying to convince myself to just leave it alone; as it otherwise looks great...but I can't seem to get over it lol.
I'm probably going to order a second set, but was wondering if I could lift it up, compressed air clean it out, and get it back down nicely. Or if it's just gonna end up looking like garbage anyways once I try.

Has anyone even gotten the Orzly glass protector yet? Crazy how they claim to have shipped it a while ago yet no one has it.
The docs have a huge defect and imperfection: plastic rails. I'm not having any problems with mine. As far as I can tell its not too narrow, is spaced normally and I have no scratches. But when, much like with the 3DS people start finding lines all over their screens, especially after years of use, its going to be obvious why: bad design.
But I hope you enjoy the next how ever many years of babying your dock because its designed so well you have to actively use it in such a way to prevent it scratching your screen.
Nope, try again. I've used portable devices like this since before the Game Boy and I don't use screen protectors. Never had a scratch. I have 3 3DS systems (OG, XL and n3ds XL), all used extensively and no scratches on them either. Vita and PSP too.
Nope again. I don't "baby" any of my stuff. Not even the Switch. As I said before, I just slide it in and out normally, and it's fine.
BTW, what's going on with Gaf? It says the connection to this site is not secure. Anybody else's saying the same thing when they come on here?
Let it be if it's only one thing. I have the tiniest piece of dust under mine right in the center of the screen. You can barely see it, and it doesn't show up when playing. It's not worth risking making things worse just to fix it, lol.Has anyone had success lifting up the amfilm SP and getting it to settle back down appropriately?

Yeah, launch night Switch with no protection with 2-3 dockings per day and no scratches. Docking has been my primary method of charging, I rarely play on the big screen. I've actually just decided to put the amFilm kit I bought away and decided to save it. Maybe my lifestyle will change and I will want to use it but so far, mostly used at home with a few travel days and everything has been fine. My dock is not bent, and I just use two hands and just go slow.
Sad to say, but I had the whole bent dock thing, and it's scratched both bezels the bezels and the back of my Switch. A lot of weird smudging too. This kind of stuff drives me crazy so I'm going to return it for now, and hopefully Nintendo will get its shit together on this front for the time Splatoon 2 comes out.
I've never been a screenprotector guy, but is the amFilm screen protector you guys are talking about above generally the one to go for? How easy is it to put on?
edit: also just wanted to say I'm super bummed about this because everything else about the console I absolutely love. honestly it's one of my favorite devices around, I'm still so impressed playing zelda realizing this is all done on mobile hardware.

How long until Nintendo does something really Nintendo and releases a dock condom or something and revises the next batch to not scratch the screen
No scratches on the screen, but a small one on the back. I've been extremely careful with removing the system in and out of the dock and no problems. Friend of mine pulls it out just once after I told him not to remove it a I got one. Well that's just fucking great...
That part of the back doesn't even come into contact with the docks rails does it? How did the dock do it?No scratches on the screen, but a small one on the back. I have one on the back from the dock here.
But the logo doesn't even touch the rails does it? How?I have one on the back from the dock here.
You have a scratch on the back center of your console from the dock? I'm confused as well on how the center location is being scratched?
If you have that scratch and it was made by the dock, it can only be due to extremely poor handling because even a bent dock doesn't scratch the switch like that since the problem is on the sides.I have one on the back from the dock here.
Any reason Nintendo couldn't have made this an open dock ?
Day 10 with my Switch. Threw the Hori (regular) protector on right from the start and have yet to find any evidence of scratching on the back or the front. My Switch is docked/undocked at least twice a day.
Well... that's interesting wording there. There's definitely no reason that they "couldn't" make the dock more open. Many users have proven that it would be extremely easy to do so. It's almost certainly just a design choice, as covering the screen while docked sends a clear message to the user that it isn't meant to be a second display.
Where would their branding go on an open front? No room for it on the device and it would likely be minuscule on an open face. I'm sure wanting your brand at the front is a big thing.
