Half asleep, I read that 10 times over and hurt my head. Now more awake, I get the joke :/

About

“Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?” is a trainwreck of English grammar that first appeared as a reply post on 4chan’s /v/ board and subsequently spread across the rest of 4chan boards as well as other popular sites. Once this indecipherable phrase gained a solid foothold on 4chan and YouTube, it began to disseminate across other internet forums and social networks, including Twitter and Facebook (See Photos for Screenshots).

Background

The reply post, which read “Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?”, first appeared under a discussion thread about an upcoming Wii game called The Conduit. The original post featured a YouTube video of someone playing the beta version of the game and a short review about Nintendo’s latest release.
Both Intrigued and stupefied by its utter lack of coherence, 4chan users began making reply posts either in an attempt to decipher the phrase or to simply instigate the ridiculous phenomenon. Social networking sites were no exception to this 4chan flood material; the phrase became widespread and mild lulz ensued on Twitter as well as YouTube.
Popular Derivatives/Responses

After extensive flooding of the phrase on several popular websites, a witty user finally made a decent response:
“You’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It’s just common sense.”
Meaning

Original:
“Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Rephrased:
“Has anyone really decided as to even go that far in wanting to do to look more like so?”

Deciphered:
“Has any video game company really taken such measure to make a game so realistic?"

Kudos to "Know your meme"

It's perfectly possible that even the ad-makers could wind up using cakefoo's image somehow. It's just that beautiful.

Not that I'm saying these pamphlet shots are real--just that the use of that particular mock-up isn't necessarily irrefutable proof of fakery. More like proof that Sony isn't handing out any official images, so graphic designers have to use what they can find
/steal
.

Would never in a million years happen. You think Sony would allow that to happen? Really?

Fake.

Consistency: Upper-case N on "New!", lower case S on "save $30"
Consistency: Box on left looks far whiter than box on right

Also, they've tried to make it look like you can see through to the back of the page, but whilst they've reversed the writing, it's upside down. School-boy error.

Not to mention it looks like cakefoo's 'shop :)

Why people still bother to make this shit now. gamescom is few day's away and most sites like Kotaku etc. are burnt with this fakes and won't post this stuff.
They should at least make a flawless one with an own slim shop.

You don't think designers ever 'borrow' images?

Look at that Chinese gaming mag that printed the mock-ups.
(not that I think it's 100% real, I'm just saying stuff happens.)

FWIW I looked up kmart ads on google image search and the lower case 'save' and upper case 'New' are consistent with their ad layouts...

Not for major retail chains, but if they're using a photoshopped mock-up then it wouldn't really be a very legit advertisement anyway, right? And legitimacy and officialism aren't always required for every single piece of advertising.

Like I said, I'm not saying it's "real" or "official", but it could be that some store somewhere is genuinely trying to advertise it, somehow, and didn't have a better pic to go with.

All the fakes aside, is it not wonderful that this thing HASN'T ACTUALLY LEAKED until now.

I mean, by Sony's standards, this is pretty amazing.

Maybe they enforced death penalties for unwanted press leaks.

I agree. I think leaks are very harmful to Sony and to the customers.. i like being surprised. :(

Err, it "leaked" a long time ago, with packaging having the same font and style as PSPGo and being shown a month or two before PSPGo's revelation.

Ofcourse, we are NOT suppose to believe that it's REAL so that we can get EXCITED when it's OFFICIALLY revealed...

True, but I meant more like a proper leak, with all major news blogs running their stories about *whatnot confirmed* and *available soon* complete with proper stock images and hands-on videos.

Almost all the factory and Philippines footage has been supressed, the average customer still lingers in darkness and Sony might therefore have a few surprises up their Monty Python-esque sleeve in this particular case.

When's the next Playstation Qore update? :P

Now that I think about it.... Qore spoiled the PSP Go announcement big time but the funny thing is that the actual special was removed from the June issue and has never been made public so far even in the July or August issue, which is absolutely puzzling ^_^''

So the Slim is actually a square coaster-looking thingamajing?

Presumably the screw holes are square shaped, this is what I got from extruding the diagonals of each hole/indentation.

Looks square including the front lip thing.

My old roommate made a bet of 80 USD with me that the PSS3 slim is fake just now.

What should I do with the money, get a couple of Dualshocks?

so it looks like they just shopped a ps3 over that usb sticks thing in the middle... the camera, the 360 controller in the top left.. you can see where the white square around the ps3 bit runs over onto the 360 in the top, looks kind of weird...

lol thanks for confirming it's fake. They used the same image you did as a base, with that TomTom and camera on the right exactly the same in both pics.

There's a Canadian Sony rep conference call by the end of the week / early next week to discuss info on major new product launch. Such conferences are only called when there's a major launch and they can't just distribute the information normally.

Was it ever said if this thing will for sure include wifi?

Well basically all of the leaks have said it retains all the features of the 80gb, so yeah. And in this day and age, it's pretty much a pre-requisite, so unless they're planning an extortionate add-on a la Microsoft it's going to have to have it.

BattleMonkey said:

We can't be sure, but the case shots seemed to indicate two indicator lights on the front...which on the fat are for HDD access and wifi. The original 20GB units which don't have wifi didn't have the second indicator light.

He doesn't have to check just that skew - if it's like the Canadian BB system, he can just go into the inventory levels menu, go to 'Gaming -> PS3 - Hardware' - and see if anything is added to that.

Not as easy on his Best Buy's... He has to search via description and Supplier Name, then all PS3 games and hardware come up.. But I will tell him that, pretty sure he just works in gaming, not anywhere else, as I think you have to work in inventory to get that stuff...
