This thread reminds me of how much shitty TV I watched as a kid. So I cant really crap on what kids watch now lol

Michael Rosenbaum IS Lex Luthor to me, will never be able to see another actor in the role more perfect than him. Same goes for Erica Durance's Lois Lane, too perfect. And can't forget Chloe of course. 💕

I know a lot of people didnt like her, but I really enjoyed Tess Mercer, even if she was a cheap replacement for Lex.

Can we mention the fact that that goddamn meteor shower led to Amy Adams trying to eat Pete

And led to almost everyone Clark went to high school with becoming a murderer or attempted rapist

Also, Smallville somehow got really good actors at points. Like Pam Grier, or the woman who played Tess. My boy Sam Witwer as Doomsday, James Marsters as Brainiac, Ian Somerholder, Lizzy Caplan, JTT was in it too. Brian Austin Greene, ya know just read this

For me, Teri Hatcher is Lois Lane. She was far too good at the role in Lois & Clark.

I miss that show a lot :'(

Justice League on a budget

Better than the strong jawed can't act motherfucker they had in LoT

Their Doctor Fate was aight, Deathstroke tho yikes

I remember not giving Arrow a chance because I was like, "They're just rolling on the Nolan hype and turning my Ollie into a Batman knockoff."

I don't recall when I stopped watching.

Definitely didn't make it to seasons with Lois and Supergirl or whoever. 4 sounds about right.

Just started watching a bit before Batman v Superman came out but only watched about 5 episodes, since Superman showed up on Supergirl I started back and watched about 11 more so far.
Im absolutely loving that show so far.(Lex sucks so far though)

turning my Ollie into a Batman knockoff.
You weren't wrong.

special show for me because it was a family thing, we'd buy the dvd sets and watch it thogether, one episode per sitting. watched the whole show like that.

the show got progressively worse, but there was always fun to be had and part of the cast was always great. seasons after the budget cuts were struggle city, it was funny to notice how Metropolis only had like 1 street and 1 alley.

I remember seeing some hunky dude tied up to a cornfield and I my young self was so turned on by his abs I didn't even notice the S sprayed on his chest so I copped the dvd and watched it and was like "uh is this teenage superman?"

Man I loved this show. Even when it went to shit I still have a fond place for it in my heart.

Then again I don't remember the bad as much, for example I don't even recall Martian Manhunter or Supergirl being in this show.

But best Lois and Lex and Chloe was awesome.

I was there from episode one as an angsty teen who needed escapism (Kristin Kreuk was the GOAT teen crush) and I remained until the last when I was a grown-ass adult with a job who was really too embarrassed to admit to anyone that I watched it.

Those dark seasons were rough, but I feel once they really started embracing the comic schtick in the final two seasons it was able to reclaim some dignity and not die a dog's death.

Weird thing is I never rewatched the show during the run, so the gradual decline in quality and budget of those years was never really something I noticed. It was only after it ended and I went back to some of those prime seasons that I saw how huge the gap was.

Kinda like how you look in a mirror day after day and don't notice how much older you've gotten, only to see a picture of yourself ten years ago and think "Fuuuu----!"

It was trash, but it was still fun to watch. Definitely best Lex and Jonathan Kent. They sould have cast Lex for the movies

I love how the K mutants always got powers just from shit they felt some type of way about.

Like the coach became a fire guy just because he like to take steam baths

I love the first few seasons. I remember the series turn to shit starting from the episode where Lana was posessed by a witch or something.

Watching batman vs superman on the plane right now and man on a second watch it really is a tonally abhorrent and almost incoherent disaster. The plot is appalling and the dialog is just horrible,

"you know what the oldest lie in America is senator? That power can be innocent." - what the fuck does that even mean and why is it shoehorned in this scene ? I get it. Superman is too powerful to trust. That doesn't mean you get to make up unconvincing fake cliches that never happened.

Nothing happens in this movie that is even internally consistent, let alone logical. Batman just did his low tech physical training montage for some reason (to train to fight an omnipotent superbeing) then looked at his blob of kryptonite and his collection of wonder woman daguerreotypes.

It's all completely senseless. Now luthor is reanimating sod with his blood after talking to the corpse as if it was his best friend/son and the ai computer is blurting out ridiculously melodrama.

I actually understand the plot and it still makes no sense. The dialog actually makes it less comprehensible.

Everything that comes out of luthors mouth sounds like a 14 year old giving himself douche chills

It's just garbage. Makes man of steel look like a masterpiece.

I realize this is rambling but man it is soooooo bad. I didn't notice first time because I was basically just watching the spectacle.

I watched it all. It had its ups and downs [many seasons had vast stretches of pointless procedural episodes with just few notable episodes that moved the story in between], but last few seasons really rocked. Also bestest Lex, and the only TV show that did Dr. Fate justice. I really want him in Arrowverse [helmet was briefly in Constantine].

The show had its ups and downs, but Lex was one of the clear highlights. One issue I had with the latter half was that they'd almost made Lex too reasonable and sympathetic. When they started to turn him into a more clear cut villain it felt ham-handed and out of character.
Lex turned evil because Clark was a dick and no one who knew wanted to share his secret identity with him. They turned into this little circle that Lex wasn't apart of. So yeah, I felt bad for the guy. Silly show.

Even if there was a villainous bent to it, Lex only wanted to be besties with Clark

It's hard to judge it from this time perspective, but for it's time it did some really cool things in a super hero tv void.
