The advertisement plays into that; by saying, "Get some nuts!" it implies that you are not male if you are not masculine.

The gay groups dislike the ad because of that, not because they think that character in the advertisement was gay or think that male effeminacy is the exclusive purview of homosexuals.

Meh, I don't think he should've been banned. Backseat modding is fucking annoying, but, I don't know, I don't think it's banworthy. GAF loves to hate the guy, I don't think he's all THAT bad. How long's he gone for, anyway?

Some might say it was karmic retribution for this post, though. I am in that school of thought. There is no pity from me.

Who was it that called for a banning when a dude(Laramie, I think it was) said "Pour a 40 oz?" He didn't get banned. No, he got the other guy banned forever. But, it should be said that GG had been doing this is EVERYTHREAD cause he was still pissed about being banned before. Suprised he lasted this long.

It's not offensive unless you are someone who it targets (any man not living up to American society's image of what it is to be masculine), or someone who has experienced the non-comedic version of what Mr. T was doing. It's funny when it is the mohawked guy doing it in a commercial; it's scary as fuck when it is a bunch of bigots doing it to you when you are walking to your car.

Doesn't complaining about this add kinda feed into the stereotype though? The add doesn't suggest he's gay, but these gay groups seem to be saying "effeminate man=must be gay! gtfo!" Sort of like they're re-enforcing the stereotype

the add leaves a message "all men shouldn't be effeminate. they should get nuts and stop" and that clearly would be offensive to gay groups since they are most stereotyped to be effeminate... also since gay men watch tv they would get offended when it relates to them. so.. pulling saves trouble. also one could foresee "get some nuts" gay bashing.

Oh come the fuck on. Nobody really lives up to that caricatured image of what it is to be masculine. That's the joke. The joke isn't about the guy being less than masculine, it's about Mr. T being overly masculine, ridiculously so.

Anybody who is remotely offended by this commercial should take the commercial's advice: Get some nuts. Grow some fucking balls.

The Get some nuts slogan is in several new commercials. Including one where a Guy is playing soccer and gets knocked and decides to play fake an injury. Mr. T shows up and tells him to cut the shit basically and at the end get some nuts.

You are correct. Mr. T for 20-30 years nearly has been a "Macho Man" of epic proportions. People who are offended by Mr. T are people clearly looking for any reason to cry and be offended

You could also look further into it and see a message saying "Black people are going to kill off white people using snickers cannons." See what I'm doing here? I'm grasping for straws.

It's just an advertisement, ugh.

Saw no Gay Bashing in this commercial, saw speed walking be bashed, but not gay bashing. That was a funny commercial though.

Pretty sure throwing snickers at someone from a moving car constitutes as a sport in it's self. Not Mr.T's fault if one sport interferes with another.

What you're doing here is drawing too much out of something. As the problem we have today, we are being too accommodating of those who draw from their personal experiences and turn something innocent into something evil. Then you are only making it worse.
Bigotry's end isn't about only stopping hateful actions but also not thinking everything is somehow targeting you.
