Xenon seems like 100% for a 2005 release now, what's surprising is that some vague Nintendo comments latley might indicate that the Revolution (or N21 or whatever) could be a 2005 release atleast in Japan.
Arguments that could support a 2005 release: (very vague of course)
* Iwata's claim latley that it's the year of Revolution.
* Kaplan's answer to a question that was assumed Nintendo would launch at the time as PS3. Somehow she didn't seem to agree, but then again she didn't deny it either.
* The latest proof of N 21 (not confirmed fake yet, but probably is) said 2005.
* Gamecube had a bad year in 2004 (sales wise), so Nintendo maybe want a new console to replace it pretty fast.
Things that does not indicate a 2005 release:
* No 3rd party developer seem to got any dev kits yet.
* Launching new GC Zelda at same time as Rev is out doesn't seem like a good move (even though Rev could be BC)
* Rushing a console out of the gate isn't smart in several areas (unstable hardware, rushed launch games etc)
Well this is indeed hardly any proof of anything, but as always it's ok to speculate
