It was a great movie, even if you don't like rap (which I don't, for the most part). They do a great job of illustrating just how harsh reality is for a lot of people. Its almost inspirational!

Thats the point...hes a great actor, and he shows it in this movie. He plays the "broke ass pimp going through a midlife crisis" role SO well.

I saw it on Friday with my gf, so I only saw like the first half of the movie. But from what I saw, Hustle & Flow is a great movie. The whole production and direction of the movie is more real than 8 mile.

I loved the scene where they made that song. But yeah, the movie was good, but I know most people on this board won't see it because they don't like rap or southern rap. The movie is about more than that.

i didnt see it, but at my movie theatre, there were 3 cops guarding the entrance to that movie...kinda crazy if u ask me

I watched it, and can verify that "YES" it does tell a good yet hash movie that's somehow kinda heartwarming.

As for if he plays the role good, I'd have to say I have no idea who he is, and seemed to be doing a Very top notch job of replicating the role of a burnt out pimp.
The only problem I had (which is anal) is when the music started sounded like the rap was bearable and not totally amaturish, the voices were not even close to sounding like they could come from the same person, no matter how much practice and voice box machines were involved.

If you're curious, go see it, it's a good movie.

That's nice and all, but you paid good money to see the film, besides, I never got the whole making out in the theater thing. I'd rather wait until we got home.
