So, Drake is being accused of using ghost writers. Fuckery inside.

Not really.... Nothing worse than people starting beef for childish reasons. That's why Meek looked like a looser to begin with.... "buuu buuuut he didn't retweet my album release"... lol, come one man.
Nah, I mean it would be funny if he said it in a playful way toward Kendrick in a diss track about Meek. I'm not that serious about all of this though. To be honest it felt like Back to Back had a lot of wasted space, though the few lines he delivered were pretty heavy. It's a catchy tune though.

Isn't this whole thing obviously viral marketing for Meek Mill?

Aren't Drake and Nicki bffs? I'm pretty sure Drake is in on it. Like why would Nicki tweet that thing in the OP publicly? This happens right when Meek's album comes out?

I mean...how much more obvious could it be? Or am I crazy.

Meek definitely got crazy exposure from it. If that's not in one of his bars (if he even responds), he's missing out.

The longer he waits, the more we'll talk about him.

Nicki's tweet in the OP wasn't about Drake. It was about her ex (who already released a Meek Mill diss a few days ago lmao).

Hey remember when Nas dropped Ether 3 whole months after Blueprint dropped? Remember when Biggie waited 9 months to respond to Hit Em Up? Give Meek some time, geesh.

Dude started this shit. And when it comes time to respond...give him some time? Come on man.
So we're settling for microwave rap beef? The days of classic battles are long gone and will never happen again.

It's not like Jay, Nas, and Biggie couldn't have ran to Flex within a week and drop a throwaway diss record. They understood the art of battle.

Meek clearly needs a lesson. This Twitter/Instagram shit is played out.

Anyway, both Jay and Nas were able to respond in a timely manner with Super Ugly and Stillmatic. They didn't need months to prepare, they just used Takeover and Ether to market their albums.

lol I honestly don't know which fans dick ride harder on this site, Drake or Kendrick, both are pop rap artists with some hits but geez stop hyping these dudes up like they really saying something. notice this is a beef between Drake and Meek, mainstream artists, let me see Drake or Kendrick go after some heavy hitters with the pen and watch them get erased . I find this beef fun and entertaining but some of yall need to ease up with this Drake and Kendrick stanning.

if meek mill and kendrick underground you listening to hiphop in a parallel universe lol. they're pop rap artists who ain't talking about much. they got good songs and are fine artists but miss me with this hype shit. kendrick is pop rap, he plays the "conscious " angle , where as meek plays the "dope dealer/hood nigga" angle, drake plays the "simp and club banger" role. kendricks raps are about as conscious as bill cosbys victims.

This is what happens when one forgets to take off the timbs and girbauds before hopping on the internet to discuss hip hop.

I dont care for Drake whatsoever, find him a bit lame.

The man has buried Meek.
I wouldn't agree, people say there are so many quotables in Back to Back when really there a very few in between lots of words that are really just filler. As I see it, if any other rapper released a diss track like Drake's, people here wouldn't be grasping at so many straws to say that rapper buried their opponent.

Let's just say best case scenario happens for Meek and he drops something today that is actually good. Does it even matter at this point? I almost hope Drake doesn't go in on him again before he does. That would be catastrophic...

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Any news on a Meek response ? Maybe he is too busy during the tour to record his track.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess you've never listened to Kendrick, but are just hearing talk about him and think he's another Lupe or J Cole.

Times are different now with social media and the exposure it leads to. Everyone is waiting and every tweet Meek puts out without dropping his diss makes him look more like a lame, especially while Drake has already dropped two.

We got Drake truthers now.

People saying back to back wasn't much is tripping. People comparing ether and stillmatic and than go on to say how those took weeks/months to come out when drake released 2 tracks on the fly cuz of the ghost write allegations. The 2 tracks build crazy hype w good shots, both obvious and hidden ones but it's not good enough still. That ish crazy.

People calling them a publicity stunt when Meeks has known to do this are random homers who just come to the thread to be the cool one "hey guys, you all know th is is fake right?"

Give it a break. Enjoy the beef that is out there, it's fun and good. Drake is one of the top out there and engaged someone when he didn't have too.

Come on, fellow dustmen. Not everything is going to be Ether. Drake came up with some clever lines, backed by exceptional timing and use of his city versus Philly. Meek has come up with nothing after starting some shit out of the blue. It isn't going to hurt your NeoGAF street cred to admit Aubrey is ahead on this one.

"The art of battle" !? Battle is two guys in each other's faces, the only time you have is until the other guy's finished his verses. Why are you comparing this to pre-social media age dis tracks when guys had to distribute tapes & stuff? Everything happened slower back then.

The whole point of this debate is over who needs ghost writers and who's legit enough to just come off the cuff. Waiting 3 months doesn't help anybody's case.

No, you're right. What are the odds that two guys could get into an argument on the internet, let alone rappers?

I like Back to Back because it's a decent song in general; on the surface it just sounds like a decent Drake track generically bragging.

I'd say 75% of Drake's songs annoy me but he sounds good and it's a sick beat.

Really not into the "beef rap" stuff in general; find most of it kind of embarrassing to the genre. But I also find the insulting of Drake tired; so I'm somewhat glad to see him doing well on this in the eyes of many. "Drake hating" is another embarrassment to the genre IMO... let's make fun of a picture of him acting in a wheel chair!! OMG he's soft!

Just spent an hour readig up on him...never knew damn.

Meek Mill Charged Up Diss Ghost-Write.
Yeah, it's crazy. The guy shows up everywhere, even in a diss track :lol

Also wow @ that guy getting 770,000 views off this lmao. Everyone on the planet getting publicity off this.

Forreal, goddamn. Everything is either the greatest or it's shit. No middle ground.

People expecting Nas/Jay level beef are idiots. Do you expect the best steak dinner of your life when you hit the McDonalds drive-thru?

Nas and (at the time) Jay were legit the 2 best rappers in the game when that went down.

I'd settle for Don't Body Ya Self at this point.

Don't Body Ya Self was a great shot at 50. "Take it SloOooOoOOoOOW!!"

"They say Jada defeated him, Joe too street for him, what's next I guess it's for Nas to Ether him!"

lmao! 50 should've declared bankruptcy when he first heard that song.

Not really, this was more a warning than a real diss track. Track was aimed more at Havoc and Prodigy anyway.

I've listened , it's a good discography of work and puts out quality music but he's not much of a conscious rapper. Doesn't actually say much in terms of controversial statements when it comes to conscious lyrics. I'm not hating on him, he's very talented but he IS mainstream and his recent music definitely puts him in pop rap. I just assume people that think Kendrick is conscious really hasn't grown up listening to conscious pro black hiphop from back in the day up to present because Kendrick just ain't it. but again he's talented and produces good music, just hella over hyped. But I'm not going to get into a debate, if he's your go to of what conscious rapper or whatever then it is what it is
