I don't disagree with anything that you're saying. Regardless of if it went the other way, Drake would still have his legions of fans and would still remain the huge brand that he is in the same way that Jay-Z remained a huge brand and despite being clowned on by quite a few people (on a smaller scale, but still).

I was mainly speaking on Meek being hot garbage despite the fact that Drake has been a living joke for a while now, like you said. It wouldn't do much to Drake, but it would make Meek look better. lol

Yeah I agree. Best case scenario for Meek here was getting some positive publicity. Drake was going to stay untouchable but Meek could have net-gained from this.

I would love to know how Meeks discussions with Nicki are going right now...probably a lot of "told you so."

When i first saw Meeks track i thought he had gotten an actual verse from Quentin with him going against Drake..this would have been a bit more interesting. Or anyone else to back him up...Nicki, MMG...but he is all alone out there.

I think another aspect was JA suddenly becoming super tough was not a good look to his fanbase of 12-17 year old girls.

He didn't just put out diss tracks; you started hearing in the media stories of people getting robbed or stabbed over this shit.. had interviews of JA acting all tough.

It'd be like if Drake tried to get all gangster on Meek; it would probably make some of his fans turn away from him.

There is no middle ground...you win or lose. Meek started this shit and couldnt finish off...he lost. It would have been different if Drake started talking shit and Meek checked him...but when you start shit you better back it up by actions and not wait a whole week to drop an below average track.

Public opinion has already spoken. His next move is solely dependent on having something to say. If Meek has ammo, he's got nothing to lose and should make another track. If he's working with the same material he should just move on.

Even if Drake was always going to win, which I still very much doubt, am I supposed to feel sorry for him? He started this shit. He should have finished it. Period. At the very least, Meek could have gone much harder than he did; Drake's popularity didn't make Meek drop a shitty diss.

And Meek of all people should know that popularity has an effect on the perceived victim, because when your man Cassidy dropped a crucial 10 minute diss track that Meek didn't respond to in any manner except Twitter, people still gave Meek the W, simply because he was more popular.

So why the fuck should I give sympathy to Meek when

1. He got himself into it
2. He had terrible responses to everything, regardless of Drake's popularity
3. He should have known the Twitter machine from the get-go since he reaped its positive benefits firsthand in a previous diss?
