So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

Had an extra switch a relative didn't want so I decided to try scalping. Barely any interest at 360. Ended up selling at face value to a random dude who was super excited for it. It's definitely not like the Wii when I was selling them for 500$ easy

Also seen a Switch in Targets twice this week here in SoCal. If someone is interested next time I see one I can pick it up for them and you just pay shipping

I know in the Netherlands the second official shipment is somewhere at the end of March, the third shipment was somewhere mid April, both of these have their preorders filled at one store I'm looking at. They're now taking preorders for the fourth shipment, slated to release on May 12!

This is a national games store though, not a big electronics store like Amazon or MediaMarkt, who I think will get some more intermediate shipments or are able to reshuffle allotments.

I wonder about this. Do Nedgame get detailed information about shipments 2 months out? I wonder why other retailers don't seem to do this anywhere.

Same, but if you look at the package tracker it says "Se enviará el 13 mar" which according to google translate means "it will be sent March 13th" and looking at a US amazon account that lines up with the "ship date" Still hoping they can hit that 14/15th date they promised though.

Also another tip if you buy $50 dollars worth of giftcards from Amazon you get $10 dollars yourself (so $60 for $50). There looks to be a few day delay on getting the $10 promo, but I plan to use it on Zelda and the US Adapter.
 
Yeah I don't feel like this is another Wii but they are severely understocked right now in the US. This is not the Wii U where it was fairly easy to find one around launch time either.

Anyone know why my Switch through Amazon.es doesn't show up on my U.S. Amazon account?
 
So I got a call from my bank. The Switch is probably not coming in the 2 days because they thought it was a fake transaction.

Stupid protection.. :(

This happened to me to =C

It was going to be delivered tomorrow, but my bank stopped the transaction.

Now it is pending between 13th-15th.

Ack. Preorder for me was outright cancelled because I was forced to cancel my card a month ago due to suspected fraud.

Are you sure this is not an account-specific or random offer? It doesn't show up for me. In the past I've had Amazon offer me $5 if I reload my gift cards balance with $100, happened a couple of times but when I told me friend about it it didn't work for him. And I know Amazon does similar things if it's your first time buying gift cards or reloading your balance.

Nothing good ever happens in Chicago so I feel like I have no choice but to wait for it to become common or order online.

Matches with what I've seen on Amazon: third party stock remains the same and so are prices, so no one is really buying.

I don't think so. Add $50 GC to your cart and go through the check out process. I believe near the final screen before paying there's a gray bar that says "Congrats you are eligible for the $10 promo coupon"
 
For people waiting on Amazon.es shipments, from reading a lot of status/progress reports across a lot of different boards I suspect that Amazon.es either (a) only sends out the global shipments every couple days or (b) only update the initial shipment info every couple days. I ordered just after midnight on 3/8 and it seems like everyone who ordered by evening on 3/7 has shipments incoming for 3/10 now but nobody who ordered since has shipments go out yet, so I suspect that was the previous wave cutoff. I think we'll get notification of shipment the 3/13-15 scheduled deliveries over the next 12 hours. I could be wrong, but it's fun to speculate :)

Edit: If I am wrong, I'll be looking at ebay/craigslist by mid-morning and possibly making bad decisions by lunch

Mine was 3/10.... Then my bank decided to screw me over and declined my payment....

Amazon.es has still charged me, so maybe it has shipped and their tracker just hasn't updated?

Do you mean that they charged you again since the original declined payment? Did your shipment/delivery info change in your order info at any time throughout the payment decline process?

Yeah, after my payment declined I called the bank and it went through. But my shipping info went from Arrival 3/10 to Pending March 13th - 15th.
 
Holy shit, I just checked stockinformer uk and you can only buy it online from re-sellers, it was fairly readily available a few days ago has it taken off that much now?

I've been calling ALL OVER (I'm in NYC) and could not find anything anywhere; it's been so bad I'm looking at deep Jersey but still nada. I'm out for drinks around Times Square today with the lady and checked the BB nearby, the dude legit chuckled and was like "nah man, we don't got none" I'm like damn this might be the Wii all over in NYC!

We leave from drinks (~7pm) and I decide to quickly pop over at a B&H over on 44th and 5th and I ask one of the workers in the Games department and he's like "Sorry man, we're all out"......FuttBuck was DEPRESSED to say the least. I've had my Gorilla Glass and Zelda for over a week now.

BUT THEN!!! A SAVIOR EMERGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Electronics Department Manager pops over and she says to me "Ehh, hold on a minute. I just sold one today, I think we have 1 Gray One left" Grey was my preferred color so this could work out!

All they had to do was scan the system a few times and if it came back okay that meant they had it. 2 minutes later and I'm walking out with this mothafucka right here!

SIDE NOTE:

Tested my JoyCons and seem to be great so far, no issues desyncing.

My dock is slightly bent in :'( I do have the Gorilla Glass but I'm still pretty anal about things like this. What's the best fix for this? What should I look for to put up at the top of the Dock on the inside? Anybody using like rubber stops or something used on furniture?

cool thanks for the info. I ordered on 3/8 so I'll update everyone as soon as I know more... I was also charged already but still says "preparing shipment".
 
Accessory stock seems weird. I got my switch on launch day but I still need a case...drove all around my small town and saw TONS of pro controllers, some joycons (grey only), a BOTW special edition sitting on the shelf at walmart! (damn I wish I had bought that version...I got the regular edition on launch day but now I wish I had the sheikah slate case)...but no carrying cases. ANYWHERE.

I ended up ordering the one I wanted on amazon, the basic $15 PDP one with the red switch logo...and they say it's backordered and might not arrive for 2 months O_O

It is obvious that this system has a good word of mouth right now, and is being helped by Zelda hype.

It's no Wii, but then it's no Wii U. Nintendo needs to play their cards right though, next few months and especially E3 will be critical time.

There was 4 consoles in Best Buy South Elgin today, pretty sure you can find one somwhere, just call some stores and ask if they have it in stock. I know it's an hour drive from Chicago but if you want one you gonna have to do some miles :)

Yeah currently sold out by Amazon. But they've been coming in and out of stock pretty frequently recently, so if you keep an eye out/set an alert on NowInstock you might catch it in stock relatively soon. Amazon Japan even had the Switch itself available a day ago.
