So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

Best Buy is holding them again for May 21st although you never know you could get lucky and get one if you ask.
I can confirm the first part. Though we were given explicit instructions NOT to sell before the 21st. But will be ticketed and there WILL be neon joycon bundles.

I am in NE Wisconsin and I still am seing regular stock in Shopko (which is where I bought my second one a couple weeks ago). I was in there on Sunday and they had more.

I heard the same thing about the 21st for Best Buy. Although my area restocked last week, so it won't exactly be a 'relaunch' for us, unless they secured a good order of units.

NO switches anywhere near me, checked all the online stock sites etc, walked into an Asda and asked by daft chance...they only had one left in a locked cuboard. So I have myself a switch. Screen protected instantly, the dock is a piece of shit, machine itself is beautiful.

Guys, i'm going to LA in June for the Rocket League Championship Series LAN and for E3, any hints where i can find a Switch there for the offical price? Should i buy it online and choose to delivery to the hotel? I already bought my Switch in Brazil, but i'd like to buy one for my brother-in-law.

I ended up buying the bundle that Target has - grey, pro controller, MK8, Zelda and a case for $500. It's less than the combined cost, although the case looks rather meh. With a red card you're paying $475 + tax for the lot, which is a pretty good deal.

It's still in stock on their website, if you guys are still looking for one.

I caved and preordered the Gamestop Zelda/Kart bundle. I got fleeced on the SD card and I probably would have never bought Has-Been Heroes otherwise, but the peace of mind knowing I don't have to scramble around anymore trying to find one makes me feel a bit better.

if any of you guys are going to the Dota 2 Masters Manila next week, there are lots of available Switches here so you might want to grab one while you're here

How long are people usually going before store opening? ~1hr good enough or nah?
I'm not sure. It probably depends on your area's interest and stock level of TRU. I do know that all of Best Buy's relaunches for me have been basically stroll in at opening and grab at ease. But I don't think TRU gets as many units as Best Buy.

Yeah not sure myself. I live in a college town and classes have already concluded, so I'd like to think demand in the area has diminished somewhat. But at the same time, I was also here during the Wii launch for Xmas break and man it was brutal trying to find one (then again Nintendo had a much harder time keeping up with demand on that one).

Is the restock in Best Buy for this Sunday considered a "relaunch"?

so I went to my local Saturn in Germany and I can safely say, the scarcity is over.

it took 2 months, but it's readily available, took this pic today

You can also order it on their web store and you've been able to buy it from their Ebay page for a while now. The system is not available throughout the entire country in every store, but recent restocks have been enough so that Ebay prices have normalised.

I'm quite surprised that Media Saturn is getting so many restocks, yet on Amazon.de it's never in stock.

So I have Target, Walmart, TRU, Best Buy and GameStop nearby and convenient. The GameStop bundle seems particularly unappealing, the BB Sunday 'relaunch' seems an option, what else can I do this week to maximize my chance of picking up just a basic gray Switch at normal prices this week / weekend?

The main factor behind the poor Switch launch is the system was not ready. As a result Nintendo was not able to manufacture sufficient units in time for launch.

Priority wise, NoE prefers high street retailers so Amazon will get shafted if Nintendo can't allocate enough units. High street retail needs more units in the first place and they sell slower. (much more units in channel)

e: Many retailers also under-ordered the switch thinking it would flop and being burned by the 3DS and WiiU.

Can confirm that the Best Buy in my area is also holding onto stock until Sunday (May 21st). I'll be there super early to guarantee one. I've only recently started my Switch hunt, but I don't want it to last any longer than it needs to.

Man, I'm trying to order the Neon Red/Blue Joycon 2-pack before Arms comes out, but they're literally sold out everywhere. Anyone know of a place that has some? Anyone know when they'll be restocked?

pulled the trigger on this one
$15 for overnight shipping? sure
good looking out, friend

I wonder if any of the items in the bundle can be returned. Walmart bundled systems used to be individually itemized on the receipt back when they were doing Xbox Slim bundles

Ordered a neon one, thanks for the tip.

Still have to pick up some accessories and Zelda for it. But the console is the hard to find bit.

Still avail at Amazon after 25 min. Drought over or its bc its prime member only?

It's lasted this long before (once over an hour, even). All depends on the size of the shipment available, and being Prime only rules out half of the population or so as well, so that slows it down as well.

Have one ordered amazon.de since end of April. Guess bad timing due to MarioKart, but oh well. Would be able to use it at the end of June anyway so I hope I will be able to get one till then.
Finally on its way, will arrive tomorrow. But of course page says they are generally out of stock again lol

paid extra $6~ to receive the item today instead of tomorrow or friday. weird. ..... what do i do now....... hope it arrives before late evening. "arrives by 9pm" .... was my Vita this expensive? ....... Vita was $299 and untaxed at the time. wow.

i'm so nervous..... it's so expensive. guilt.... guilt..... guilt .....

Grey is now in Stock.

Go go go.

Thanks, i was going to go to Best Buy on Sunday to try my luck. I prefer to actually walk in and buy a console, its such an exciting thing, its almost weird. At this point im so tired of looking all over for it in stores, I just ended up ordering on Amazon... Still wanted the neon one though!

Kinda want to cancel, i feel so guilty!

Ordered then cancelled a grey on Amazon. Building a PC at the moment and could probably afford it but, hard to justify doing both, and I've already bought parts for my new Ryzen PC.

lol

Also really want neon, but thats not really the reason I actually cancelled (
it totally is
)

Some Fool returned a neon switch to Gamestop on Monday so I picked it up. I beat Zelda at launch but Mario Kart on lunch break is amazing.

Wasn't interested at launch. Then I kind of wanted one to try Zelda with all the glowing reviews. And now interest is waning again. I'll probably consider getting one when there's a hardware revision.
