So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

Wait...I thought Target would re stock Switches on Sunday because of the Sunday ADS.

My wife picked me up today from Target, 4 neons as well. I think reading this thread it sounds like Target probably goofed and instead of holding on to their shipment for Sunday's ad, they put them out today....

I'm willing to bet they're not going to have any on Sunday as promised with the ads.

South Park Meadows in Austin, Texas. They had four and we bought one, so up for grabs as of about 4 hours ago.

So if I search for "Nintendo Switch" on Target's website, and nothing but games comes up, that means they don't have the Switch stocked like all these other places apparently do? And I shouldn't bother driving?

I called them SIX TIMES in a row and they disconnect on me every time. I think they're having technical issues.

Nothin'

Nintendo Switch - Grey is on the site

The page for Neon seems to be dead

Ok good. Just hoping Bay area has a bunch Saturday night/Sunday morning, gonna go looking for a grey set of joycons if I can't get a a grey switch.

I dunno man, I would try to pick one up today. It seems like a lot of Targets got them today and will probably sell out before closing.

I got the same result online but I called my local Target and they had received 5 as of this morning, so either the website is slow to update or it just isn't accurate. The only sure way is to call or be there in person.

Just got paid but it won't go through until tomorrow, so I'm stuck waiting. Just hoping the ad is true, cause it means they'll have more on Sunday, and I work next to one and get off right before they open.

Also checked the site and east Bay is largely out of stock already, at least the grey set.

Is this Target thing nationwide? I've got a Target sorta close by, but in a relatively small town and kinda far from the major cities... I'll wake up early and go if every Target is participating, but if it's only certain stores I would not want to waste my Sunday morning.

I stopped into a Target this morning in a major city and they were completely out.

Switch is in Target's nationwide ad this Sunday. They always hold back stock of in-demand electronics products for these ads. So, if you see Switch units at your local Target today, that store likely failed to do this. Those stores are going to have angry customers this weekend. Unless, of course, these stores got a ton of units and got authorization to put some out early. But that's unlikely.

There's a lot of speculation in the thread about what the early stock means, but I will say a saw a couple of Target's on the stock tracker show 12 Neon units which is absurdly high give the usual amount in a restock. I wonder if they blew all their units while the other stores in my area only released a portion of their units.

When should one show up at Target on Sunday? At store opening time? 30 mins early?

Called two of my local Targets. One was completely out, and the other had a shipment yesterday...that sold out. Was meant to get one as a surprise birthday present, but the deal that was in place fell through, so now me and my folks are scrambling to get one.

Best to wait until Sunday, I take?

Just got one at my local target, interestingly enough I was at this very store a few days ago and the guy was telling me they hadn't gotten any in three months, so when I called this morning I wasn't expecting to hear that they had. I didn't buy any game though as I wanted Zelda and that was out of stock, will have to get that later

I just went to Walmart and...

They had 5 in stock. Some old guy was already at the case and bought 4 of them and I got the last one.

How rare/hard to find do you think the yellow joy cons will be to find when arms come out next Friday

I tried to buy a pair at a Target today but the register warned about the date. Had to give it a try.

Have them preordered on Bestbuy.com but wanted them early plus 5% off. (Would have cancelled the Best Buy order if it worked)

I went to Wal-Mart a couple hours ago and they had seven neons on the shelf. I got one of them. I really would have preferred the gray, but who knows when they will be available. Even Gamestop only has the neon on the website in their bundles.

I've got a question about it now that I have one. How does upgrading the memory card work? Is it even possible to? I would have gotten a 200GB card for it, but I couldn't afford the extra $75 for one. I remember there was a big uproar about not being able to copy saves. Am I stuck with whatever memory card I use or can I just copy over what's on the memory card to a larger one later on?

I'd call your local store first and make sure they're going to have stock tomorrow morning. If it were me, I'd show up at least an hour early.

I thought the limit was one per customer?

If that limit isn't built into their point-of-sale system, it's quite easy to sell multiple units to a customer. Heck, it's easy to bypass that even if it is. Just initiate five separate transactions. The employee was either ignorant of the one-unit-per-customer policy (if such a policy exists) or they just didn't care.

Another associate told him she thought it was a bad idea to sell all of them like that because they'd been getting calls from people looking for them but he just ignored her.

Several new ones were in stock at a Lauderhill, FL Target this morning. Grabbed one, but I'm sure the others are long gone now.

One of them only cared about making sales, the other cared about not having angry customers.

Was at a Yodobashi Camera store in Yokohama last night. A lady (and her teenage son) were asking about the availability of the system will pointing at the display unit. The sale clerk said 'nope'.

There was a sign on the glass of enclosure of the display saying "not available for reservation". The teenage son then wandered off and the mother got pissed off after a while and ended repeatedly calling out his name across the store :o
