So in 1969 we traveled to the moon

The thing with other planets (and the moon) is: there's not much there for us. America was discovered and then quickly swarmed by Europeans for its land and resources. We went to the moon and brought back...rocks. What's the point?

Same for Mars, btw.
Asteroid belts are loaded for valuable metals and materials.

We could care less about the planets and visiting them except as a means to increase public suppor and interest. The asteroids and materials there will become the next goldrush.

Interplanetary travel within the Solar System is pointless. All of the other planets are lifeless, barren balls of rock or collections of gas, etc. Why waste time and resources traveling to other planets within the Solar System just for the sake of doing so? Why not use time and resources to develop space ships with warp drives in order to make interstellar travel feasible and visit other, Earth-like planets that are worth exploring? Or why not use time and resources to explore parts of Earth that have never been explored, such as the deep sea?

Because it’s challenging. Because it’s inspiring. Because it will advance our species. Because we can.

In England there are people already building Tesla tech. All of Teslas patents are available in England unlike how the US has many missing........
This is the accumulated knowledge there is so far! In England there are people making Tesla turbines using friction less aero static bearings or electromagnetic bearings. Even people messing about trying to make UFO tech.
public vs private.

Interstellar travel is also challenging, inspiring, and will advance our species as well - and it's worthwhile because it would make traversal to other, life-sustaining planets possible. I'm not against space exploration but am against pointless space exploration. The truth is that the only worthwhile planet in the Solar System is the one you and I are on right now; the others are dead.

Space exploration will be pointless until they start rolling out hyper drives that can just "poof" almost instantly a few thousand light years like in Starwars.

Yeah but what year will that be possible? We are probably 1000 years away.

The distances are ginormous. With current technology it would take 18000 years to reach Alpha Centauri.

I was talking about developing warp-drive technology; I mentioned that in my original post, to which EviLore had responded.

NASA is hamgstrung by a tight budget. Congress won't allow them the type of funding they had back then.

SpaceX will do what NASA cant and more.

Titan has many times more natural gas than all of Earth's known reserves.
These worlds may be barren but they are rich in minerals.
Asteroids as well. Tons of natural resources to mine.
Also there is the question of our survival a species. If you want to survive you need to establish colonies on multiple planets and or moons. One catastrophe here can wipe out the entire human race. So becoming an interplanetary species is vital.

How do you propose we get to interstellar travel without first perfecting travel within our own solar system? We can't send humans beyond the moon, thus interstellar is out.

Space travel is pointless and shows just how senseless we mankind are, there is no point or need in getting out of Earth, yet the supossed "smartest" people in the world spend billions on it, why? because as kids they wanted to be astronauts... 🤪 guess what, some kids dream of reaching adulthood.

That someone can say that shows how far we've fallen as a species. Yes let's never advance, let's forget about ambition, let's never explore, let's never ask ourselves what's out there, let's hide in caves chiseling our blogs into rock, meandering through our own miserable existences safe in the knowledge that at least we grew up.

I wanna be alive when we are gonna discover aliens.

I want to ask them if they really use their fingers as penises

Artemis is going to the moon in like 6 years. My little daughter has been tracking this as it'll be first woman on the moon. It's extremely inspiring.

Mars is a shithole and space radiation is a pain but we have to go and we also have to stop fucking our only habitat.

I agree still take a 1000 years to make the next decent step as a species but we could totally do it. If we can hold off on destroying ourselves just a little bit longer.

And now in 2020, we still havent set our foot on another planet. (or moon for that matter) *Sad face*

That's 51 fucking years!

I really loved space as a kid (and I still do), and it pains me that I might not get to see another journey to visit another planet in my lifetime. There is so much mystery left to discover. Mars is definitely doable, but when will it happen? Someone tell NASA to wake up.

First we travelled to the moon, 2020 we travel into a woke utopia.

Exciting times.

Secret Space Programs supported by a rogue military industrial complex.

Which is complicit in hiding advanced technology for 80+ years.

All to keep the global oil and debt based economy going - that's why.

The same military industrial complex infiltrated popular culture in a successful attempt to fictionalise these breakthroughs through mainstream sci-fi media furthering the cover up.

Gene Roddenberry Based Star Trek on Secret US Navy Space Fleet

Why does a show about wormholes and aliens need "cooperation" from these govt agencies?

Why bother with cars with wheels, why didnt we just jump strait to flying hover cars running on anti-gravity devices???? Because things have to happen in steps, and the tech isnt there yet to even talk about warp drives yet. Its like saying why invest in nuclear power when we could be building a dyson sphere! We arent there yet, and there is a TON to learn just by trying to land on other planets.

So my understanding is that we got banned from the moon.
By who i wont tell cuz too deep rabbit hole.

But we may go back now cuz we got the green light.

Read into it what ever you want but fact is i dont let my six year old drive my car as i know she will crash and do harm to others and herself.

Maybe we matured enough....well minus the crazy left.
