They did a double encore on Friday as well. After the performance in the program was finished, the audience kept applauding as Roth left the stage, came back, left again, then came back with the choir. He began the encore, and when everyone realized they were playing One-Winged Angel, the screams from the audience drowned out the orchestra! It seemed like a very unusual thing to happen at the symphony :lol Afterwards people kept clapping and clapping. I wasn't sure if they were ever going to stop, to be honest! Roth came and went a couple more times, then apologized that he only had one encore, and asked the audience whether they would like to hear Liberi Fatali or One-Winged Angel again. The crowd overwhelmingly yelled for One-Winged Angel, followed by a growing chant for "both!", which Roth rejected

After the second encore, they quickly raised the lights and people started to leave.
It was interesting to see the crowd, as well. The hall was about 90% full, and some people were dressed to the nines in suits and tuxedos, while at the other end of the spectrum others were proudly wearing the Dear Friends T-shirts they were selling in the lobby.
Photography was "strictly prohibited", but that didn't stop anybody, so I joined in and snapped this shot with my phone. Originally, my girlfriend and I had seats A1 and A2, but realized only too late that this is way, way too close. While it gave us an excellent view of the underside of the cellist's foot, we moved back a few rows during the intermission and enjoyed things a lot more. Live and learn, I guess. You can see the couple in front of me getting romantic before the orchestra played Aerith's Theme
