Now, I know everyone loves to argue, and N-bots, X-Bots, and Sony fanboys love to chime in on threads setup to discuss a competing system, but lately it seems to me that EVERY SINGLE game-related thread I've read quickly takes a turn for the worse when someone chimes in with "that would be better on DS" or "that would be better on PSP" or "that would be better on the PS2" ... which rapidly transforms the thread into a pissing match.
Shouldn't GA have some sort of rule against obvious trolling in game-related threads? I mean, how is discussion served by those sorts of comments? What is the point, except to derail people from talking about the game in question?
Belfast made a post for EXIT on PSP and right off someone says "that should be on DS," so everyone takes the bait and begins to argue in defense of the analog nub against the DS's stylus input. Thread derailed.
"That should be on DS" -- Sorry, it isn't. It's on PSP. People want to talk about the game, not about the system it isn't on.
It seems more common in PSP threads, but I've seen PSP fanboys attack DS game threads and Xbots do the same in PS2 threads too.
We all know Drinky and MAF like to troll for trolling's sake, but they tend to setup their own threads and make it obvious. A lot of posters lately are just doing it to stir up the pot, and it's really giving GAF a "SomethingAwful"-ish atmosphere.
Am I the only one bothered by this? Am I the only one that thinks that kind of trolling should only be allowed in system/hardware-specific threads and threads setup specifically to troll and argue?
