This is pratically all about MGS now, there was a reason a non-MGS thread was made. You can't stop it no matter how many times people post annoying smilies!! Yeah, I love games being the shit!!
 
Slightly OT (or is it?), but talk is Famitsu should arrive tomorrow. When does news usually filter through? Will our friends in Japan make extra special effort to report back on it as soon as is possible? :P It'd be nice to wake up to some MGS4 (and other) news..:)
 
Either 2ch or someone here should have the issue and whatever is in it up when the issue is out. So it shouldn't take long for whatever Famitsu has about MGS4 to be posted.
 
Yeah, the TGS is just a little added bonus that comes with the MGS presentation - kind of like how the $49.99 MGS2 demo came with a free copy of Zone of the Enders.

I regret buying that. I only bought it for the demo. I will never do something like that again. The demo was cool, but not worth 50 bucks. I never even played ZoE.
 
btw. does anybody of you believe that we might see something new of "LAIR"? i know that factor 5 are a german/american developer but this game is published by sony and it was first shown at the playstation meeting in japan.
 
Ugh. I now hate "G. Rev" for whenever I see that name I think "REVOLUTION NEWS IS OUT?!?!?!" then realize it isn't so. :(

They may reshow the same trailer from the Playstation Meeting, but I doubt there'll be anything new. It's only a couple of months since the PS Meeting.
 
I hope we get to see lots and LOTS of PS3 stuff. A GT5 teaser would be nice to see. :D

Hope so, the game could turn out to be pretty cool.
 
This is what I wanted next gen characters to look like. So far it doesn't look like we're going to get there although GOW and RE5, if its realtime, comes close.

i agree. i'm playing devil may cry right now and all i want is to go back to zoe2. dmc i still fun though :)
 
I actually really liked the original ZOE, but I played the MGS2 demo a lot more - and I beat ZOE like... three times. :D

edit: I don't know if I want to see pictures of the game before I see the trailer... I think holding out for the trailer would be even better. But that's just me.

it's not out until firday - it gets to some people on wednesday, then it sometimes makes it onto the web by wednesday evening :)
 
Dammit, is it confirmed that next MGS game will have user controllable camera? I'd hate for this game to become another Max Payne, Splinter Cell or whathaveyou when it comes to camera control. I can't be the only one who doesn't like that camera method - it makes everything look and feel so unnatural somehow. If anything, I hope they somehow keep the cinematicness of the gameplay, maybe using the semi-automatic camera like it's used in some platformers (J&D, etc...)
 
I still can't find ZOE2. I played about an hour at a friends' house and it was fucking awesome, and I've been looking for it ever since.

It's confirmed to be 3rd person. There was nothing cinematic about the camera angles in MGS3. :P In fact, all it did was hide the beautiful backgrounds(you got a much better view of them in FPV).

My guess is that the camera angle will be VERY similiar to the one during the fight with The Boss, only fully controllable with the right stick.

I dunno, the camera flat out sucked in MGS3. It was very cinematic in MGS2 and worked well, but the wide open areas of MGS3 really didn't work well with the overhead view. I felt as if I could never fully take in the world ESPECIALLY when running towards the camera. The Splinter Cell style camera doesn't "feel" very polished in action, though, I agree...but I don't know what else they could do.

It's confirmed, but MGS3S is going to have the original cam also, so they might program MGS4 with both games too for those that like the original cam. As we get to know more about it we'll find out.

Staying at Radisson Miyako this year. Very good, although not Westin good. Preparing for a bar night, hence the sleep - can't let down the Japanese girls ;-)

Weather is brilliant, it's something like almost +30C. Fantastic!

Just arrived in Japan, I did not sleep during the flight so I've already been awake for more than 24 hours. Ho well, another 10 hours to go.
I still can't believe I'm actually here, Tokyo is as busy as I anticipated :)
