I thought this game was announced like 6 months ago? Disappointed to not see it at E3. Baten Kaitos is great fun!

I'd imagine you'd have to wait for the TGS. Katamari DS was announced pretty darn recently wasn't it?
Yes it was but...FF3 DS and BK DS have been announced an year ago and nothing happened too :(

A bit of hyperbole, isn't it? FFIIIDS was announced in October and BK DS was only mentioned a year ago as a possible project if there was enough user support. It wasn't confirmed until quite a bit later (which I completely missed, BTW)

Gotta be a tad bit patient, people :)

Namco announced Baten Kaitos and Katamari Damacy for the DS at the same time.

I heard it was in Nintendo Power, but then Namco USA was like "omg what".

Normally I'd say it was Nintendo Power's gaffe, but the exact same thing happened with the US release of Taiko. The news came from Japan, and Namco USA was like "omg what", but it was true.

The odds of NOA knowing something Namco USA doesn't are slim, but I'm not ready to completely dismiss it yet.

Oh, that's cool.

So why do ya think it isn't happening, eXxy? Something you heard at E3, or just a gut feeling?

Edit: Nevermind, Kobun explained it all.

I don't think they did. I think Baten Kaitos DS was announced at the same time as Xenosaga DS. Katamari Damacy was mentioned a lot later in Nintendo Power.

More importantly, where in god's name is Final Fantasy 3? I really badly wanted to see their progress on the title. I pray that it hasn't been cancelled.

:lol Don't even start with this. After the Wonderswan fiasco I'd assume people would be a tad more patient.

Cancelled, no, but they sure are taking their sweet-ass time on that pile of DS games they said they were bringing out. I'd expect Tokyo Game Show to feature a good portion of them.

At least Egg Monster Heroes is out! Right? Right? Sigh.

True. I just get nervous when a company shows a teaser for something and then not a single mention of it at a later date. Wait for TGS!

I'm satisfied as a DS owner, knowing that games like this are still coming, ensuring that the DS will have a long life cycle, and NOT be cut off by the next Game Boy.

Hey, I made a thread just last night to discuss this very topic!

But anyway, I'm more interested in knowing the consesus around here as far as if we believe the Mistwalker DS original tactics game is still in development, or has it been shelved for 360 support?

I imagine Nintendo is "holding back"some of these games for a rainy day. Also...there was suppossed to be a Princess Peach platformer too. Another possibility is that a couple of these games could be set back to impement online WiFi gaming...or maybe even closer releases to their Nintendo Revolution counterparts for connectivity...either way NDS isn't going anywhere for a while.

I want to know why Square is sitting their ass on FF3. They've remade every other pre-PSX FF game, some of them twice even, why not FF3? It's like, their best famicom game to boot. Punks.

Is the DS remake of Final Fantasy III based on the work done in the WonderSwan Color version? It's weird how even FFIV came out for WSC before FFIII did. (Speaking of which, FFIV needs to haul its ass over to the GBA or DS, and fast).

People, you don't understand: FFIII is cursed. That's right. CURSED. Every time Square tries to remake the game, a programmer, artist or intern dies each day the project is being worked on. The curse starts working on the interns and after they're all wiped out it's the other two next. Square just keeps hoping they've spawned enough interns to finish the project... but they never do.

Why do you think it's never been completed? Hmmm?

Let's just wait until JackFrost2012 wakes up. Maybe he'll have something to say.

I'm stumped as to why Squeenix showed no DS stuff, honestly. Maybe they wanted to put attention on their stellar *cough* PS2 lineup and not have people distracted by playable, fun games.

FF12's giving Matsuno an undeserved bad name because of the delays. So... I just hope it'll blow everyone away. :P

(and the jokes about Kitase taking over better not come true!)

I don't think so...

They fucked up with FFIII... a fuck up of monumental proportions. The type of thing Sega does. I don't think FFIV was planned, but after FFIII fell through, they ported it quickly to fill the gap. Maybe they had to fulfil a contract or something.

Yea, I even remember Square released pre-order artwork for the FF3 WSC box and bundle, then it just dissapeared and suddenly FF4!

I pray FF3 DS still lives.

What are the details of the FFIII Wonderswan fuckup, anyway?

I remember seeing screens of FFIV on the *black and white* Wonderswan.
