Kinda surprised to see Ratatouille so high. It's a good movie, but there's some glaring issues with it. The love between the main character and woman is incredibly forced; when they kiss, me and my GF were both like.. wait what? Thought the main character was overly annoying and pretty stupid (always hated the "woahh.. WOAHH" reactions when he's off balance/controlled by the rat).

However, I will say the movie's visuals are absolutely incredible and the soundtrack was great. Looks like a movie that was released this year, honestly. The payoff is fantastic (critic eating the meal) and the ending was well done.

But I'd overall put it in the "good" not "great" category.

Also surprised at the Ratatouille love. Thought it was alright but pretty boring with mostly annoying characters.

The Incredibles will forever be my #1. The Good Dinosaur is also pretty high up there, screw the haters.

Probably...
1. UP
2. Toy Story 2
3. The Incredibles

Most are top-tier.
Mid-tier would be Cars, Brave, Good Dinosaur, and Finding Nemo.
Bottom tier is Cars 2.

Edit: Actually surprised by the Finding Nemo love, I found it the same level as original Cars.

Up and Inside Out are their absolute high points imo, along with Toy Story 3.

Toy Story 2, most of the time you expect that the sequel won't be as good as the original, not much new stuff to be seen and such. I was so wrong. I loved the jokes(Jurassic Park & Star Wars references got me good), the drama(Jesse's song is fucking depressing), Woodie's Show stuff was something that I didn't expect at all, they raised some interesting questions, what will happen when andy grows up? yeah, now there is Toy Story 3 to answer that, nevertheless, I had ton of fun with this movie and I still love it even today.

Worth metions:
- The Incredibles
- Up
- Monster Inc.

There's going to be Toy Story 4 to answer that, mate.

To me it's a tie between Toy Story 3, Inside Out and WALL-E. I consider all three to be masterpieces. Of course, the former relies a lot on nostalgia for the previous movies in the franchise (which are #4 and #5 on my Pixar list, with TS2 ranking better than TS1), so it probably wouldn't have the same impact if someone hasn't seen them or grown along with Andy. But that doesn't mean it's not an incredible movie anyway, because it is, and on its own merits. That ending, man... Not ashamed to admit I shed a few tears every time I see it.

WALL-E was a fantastic surprise, which I saw for the first time last year. I've been told it was good, but I had no idea how much. The concept is excellent, the execution is excellent, the animations are excellent, the music is excellent, the credits song by Peter Gabriel is excellent, it's amazing all-around. The only thing I don't like is that I waited 7 years before watching it, but that's only my fault.

As for Inside Out, I don't think there's anything left to say that I haven't said yet in other threads, it's a classic to me. Only movie I've seen 4 times in the cinema, and I would have kept going if I still had someone new to go with. Just thinking about it right now makes me want to put the blu-ray in my PS3 and give it another go. If I had to spend the rest of my life alone on an island with a single Pixar film to keep me company, this would probably be my choice.

Those with an impeccable sense of cinematic taste will say Wall.E.

Those with a sickness in their brains will say Brave.
I couldn't believe the
everyone gets fat story. It was unbelievable and frankly insulting to humanity. I don't even think the message was good. Humanity sucks was basically the message of Wall.E. the first third was good though.

My favorites are incredibles and ratatouille. Loved toy story when it came out.

Toy Story > Finding Nemo > Toy Story 2 > Toy Story 3 > The Incredibles > Monsters Inc > Wall E

The others I haven't seen or give enough of a shit to list them.

But I do wanna see Inside Out.

1. Monsters Inc. - The Most underrated Pixar film imo.

2. The Incredibles.

3. Toy Story.

I'm surprised by the amount of love Wall-E is getting here, amazing movie but also kinda overrated.

Why so much hate for Brave? I thought Brave was great and one of the more visually beautiful Pixar films. Was it just too formulaic in Disney story-telling terms and Pixar is supposed to be more original?

Anyway I generally have loved all the Pixar movies. Have to go with the original Toy Story as the best though. Cars 2 definitely the worst.

Side note. I think Big Hero 6 was one of the best from either in a long time.

I think they've dug themselves in a hole with Toy Story 4. TS3 ended perfectly. Can't believe they're going beyond it..

Is there any word yet on what that story is going to be? I'd imagine it will be all Bonnie, but who knows. I think having a movie about Andy in college or whatever would be a bad idea, but I guess we'll see.

Maybe Andy knocks some girl up and Bonnie gives some of the toys back to the baby.

Toy Story 1. Saw it in the theater when I was 10.

It sticks out in my memory because it was at a Sony Theater in Indianapolis, they had a PS1 set up at a kiosk which had just come out a couple months before. That and Toy Story being the first full length CG movie I've ever seen was a pretty cool experience.

I appreciate Pixar films on a technical level, but I'm not much of a fan. That said, Inside Out was very good, so that's my pick.

1. Ratatouille

The writing, the atmosphere, the characters and everything about this movie feels right. The entire movie has a warmth to it that I haven't really found in any other movie.

2. The Incredibles

The style of this movie is fantastic, as is the character design.

3. Toy Story 2

The graphics improvement between the first and second movie are huge. I also like the story of this one better than the other two.

It's still new but I think it might actually be Inside Out. As a psychologist I couldn't help but marvel at all the incredibly clever metaphors. And it's also moving without getting melodramatic, such as Up and Toy Story 3. It feels like their most grown up story.

2 is Wall-E and 3 is Finding Nemo.

I'm not a fan of Ratatouille either. I'd rank it among Pixar's worst three, along with Cars 2 and Up. Food doesn't interest me as the main subject of a movie, and the main (human) character was extremely annoying. It's not bad, but it didn't entertain me enough to call it good either. It's just OK.

Up started pretty strong, though sadly I had had part of the beginning spoiled beforehand (specifically,
the death of the wife
). Then it all fell apart when the talking dogs appeared, and it showed the old man apparently having the body and mobility of a 15 year old. It completely ruined the mood for me, and from that point on I wasn't able to enjoy the film anymore.

I really liked The Good Dinosaur too! Not one of Pixar's best, but it's still great. I just wish it didn't have that pointless scene with the triceratops, though it featured the first instance of the word "hemorrhoid" in a Disney movie that I can recall.

Why so much hate for Brave? I thought Brave was great and one of the more visually beautiful Pixar films. Was it just too formulaic in Disney story-telling terms and Pixar is supposed to be more original?
Brave was also really good. The main idea of the movie was very silly, but it was executed in a smart way. Love Merida's monologues at the beginning and end, and the scene of the archery competition. It doesn't hurt that it looks amazingly good, and the soundtrack is beautiful too.

I'm not quite sure what I think of Up as a film from start to finish, but I'll be damned if you can find a single more emotionally powerful moment in any of their films in regard to how the movie opens. That's probably their finest accomplishment in that department; so much was told and felt with absolutely no words spoken.

All the pixar movies before wall-e are gold.
After that it became obvious Pixar went out of ideas.
(Except Brave, that was kinda cool)

Nothing tops this:
MPW-41812

Toy Story 3, but if you ignore the nostalgia factor, probably The Incredibles. I've only been disappointed by three of their movies though (Cars, Cars 2, and Brave).

1. The Incredibles

Super looking forward to the sequel.

2. Finding Nemo

Super scared the sequel will taint the magic of the first

3. Ratatouille

Just great all around.

Never was much of a fan of Up. And Inside Out was fine but I'd have to rewatch it to be able to place it.

Not the hugest Disney/Pixar fan out there...

That said Ratatouille is an excellent movie.

Wall-e was ruined by the live action crap/boneless humans, utter garbage. Him staying planet side would have made a perfect short film.

Wall-E. I wouldn't say the first half of Wall-E, because if we're cherry-picking sequences or half-movies or whatever, then nothing beats the first 15 minutes of Up.

Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles would be my favourites.

Why so much hate for Brave? I thought Brave was great and one of the more visually beautiful Pixar films. Was it just too formulaic in Disney story-telling terms and Pixar is supposed to be more original?

It was nowhere near the film it could've been.

The Incredibles, simply because it's their most action packed and therefore exciting movie. The plot is a little silly though. If I'm in the mood for something more heartfelt I would go with Finding Nemo.

Good Dinosaur was... good but just a let down after how amazing Inside Out was. If Good Dinosaur had released before Inside Out, I don't think people would be so down on that film. I did enjoy the story and had that trademark Pixar emotional hook.

Arlo's voice was REALLY grating though, wish they'd have cast someone a bit older sounding to voice him.

Honestly Good Dinosaur isn't their best but it's a much better movie than Ratatouille imo (Pixar's most overrated film).

Up is pretty overrated after it's first 10 mins.

I'm gonna go with Ratatouille or WALL-E as the best Pixar films.

Toy Story still deserves mentions, as does Inside Out.

Monsters Inc. A few others are objectively better (Up, Wall-E) but Mike Wazowski is hilarious.

Both Cars movies are stinkers, the rest are still really good.

I think they've dug themselves in a hole with Toy Story 4. TS3 ended perfectly. Can't believe they're going beyond it..

You're not wrong – but didn't we all feel the same after Toy Story 1? And Toy Story 2?

3 seemed totally unnecessary but ended up being the best of the bunch, imo.

I appreciated that The Good Dinosaur was different to Inside Out. I knew it could never top the latter (nothing can), so the best thing to do, in my opinion, was taking it in a different direction, which Pixar did. It's more focused on nature, with vast landscapes and feelings of isolation (which are increased by the very low amount of characters, some of which appear only once for less than 5 minutes). While the plot is as simple as it can get, the journey was good.

The silent sequences reminded me of WALL-E and were the highlights of the movie to me. If it wasn't for the T-rex war stories scene (loved it!) I might not have minded if the entire movie was dialogue-less. Pixar totally nailed the expressive animations and non-verbal communication in this one.
