My dad used to get catalogs for VHS porn and black wrapped Penthouse and Hustler magazines in the mail when I was a kid in the 1980s. A lessened focus on pleasure and sexual fulfillment from marriage for women is a logical outcome of a society that values economic stability over personal happiness, and where the male is the sole/main breadwinner.
