So who's your Nintendog holding up?

I finally picked up Nintendogs on Friday. At first, to be honest, I didn't really like it, it was too "realistic" which made it kinda boring. I kept shutting the lid of my Nintendo DS but after a bit, I always found myself going back and seeing how my pup was doing. I really dig this game now. So what are your stats so far?

Version: Dachshund and Friends
Puppy type: Golden Retriever
Dog name: Crypto
Tricks: 8
Together Time: 1:23
Trainer Points: 00785 (Archie-Type)
Disc Competition: Master
Agility: Haven't tried it yet
Obedience: Haven't tried it yet

I haven't unlocked any other puppies yet and the only thing I found while walking that I liked was the large sunglasses.

P.S mods please fix the damn typo in the title.

my sister has stole my copy haven't play the game since I show it to her :(

so what 8 tricks do you have down, my son has about 4 tricks, but his dog does great at the agility.

where did you find trainer points in it?

he has also found a ton of things on walks, hats, glasses, balls, sticks and other toys and items.

he unlocked two dogs , he told me it was with traner points but i have no clue if that is how he got the two new ones unlocked.

Sit Down
Shake Hands
Play Dead
Lay Down
Roll Over
Sneeze
Butt Wave

That's it for me.
Today I want to teach Cupcake "salute" and "beg."

Is that what the trick is called? I never tried to teach it that because I had no idea what the fuck it was doing so I imagine anything I would have said to it would have given me question marks.

Also JESUS DOG LEARN BEG YOU BASTRARD FUCK YOU

This game sucks compared to Ouendan

Dude, stop. You've been constantly trolling almost every Nintendo thread I visit. You dare question Nintendogs? It already sold 700,000 copies in Japan... It will only be a matter of time... before the USA and... you succumb to your adorable K9 overlords.

First Dog:

Name: Pugsly
Breed: Pug (Duh)
Time: 2:11
Tricks:
On your butt (sit)
Shake it (ass wiggle)
Lay Down
Jump
Roll over
Give me 5 (handshake)

Contests:
Disc: Expert Class
Agility: Open
Obedience: doesn't listen worth a damn :)

Second Dog:
Name: Gunther
Breed: Husky
Time: 0:16

Gimmie 5

I have a question. Does the Disc/obstacles competition depend on the breed?
My corgi doesn't seem to be able to catch the FRICKING disc. But she rocks at obedience.

ditto.

My Dog Windy(welsh corgi).

Sit
Jump
Rollover
Spin
Stand
Shake

Trying to teach it to do the breakdance(Rollover+spin) and backflip(sit+jump) now.

...oh shit! My Nintendog! <picks up welsh corgi corpse> WHHHHYYYYYYYY?!11two

My husky DogButs hust learned to jump from his back to his feet like a freaking ninja! awesome! I called it flip out

I played for 30 minutes the day I bought it. Taught my chihuahua how to sit, and took a small walk around the neighborhood. I haven't touched the game since, and I am preparing to sell it. Game just isn't for me.

I have 3 dogs from the Chihuahua and friends version, a German Shepherd named Chip, a Chihuahua named Armstrong and a Cavalier named Ginger.

Chip can do heaps of tricks including the standard ones (sit, shake hands, roll over) as well as beg, stand up on his hind legs, jump, and sneeze. He's made it as far as the championship in the disc competition.

Armstrong can sit, beg, roll over, etc. he's really good at the obedience trials but I haven't taught him to jump yet so we haven't gone that far.

Ginger is just new so we're just getting the basics down together.

They are so much fun, I can't wait to try some obedience trials with them today, I think Chip can almost go all the way! (except he's been playing up a bit lately, begging when ordered to shake hands and that sort of thing). :lol

Last week he held up a 7-11 clerk, but he's graduated to first degree battery since then.

I would like to know this too.

I made it to Master with my beagle on the Disc Competition and Obedience. Fry just can't seem to catch those 9-10 frisbee points. Also, some commands are switched like when I say "spin" he shakes (I had to rename "spin" to be "circle") and sometimes when I say "beg", he also shakes.

Sorry for the delay, I was out:

My tricks:
-"Sit down" (you place the stylus on his head and then tap the floor)
-"All Fours" (when it's sitting down, place the stylus on it's head and move it down slightly)
- "Sleep" (not really sleep, I just called it this, when your puppy is on lying down like in the trick above, just move the stylus on it's belly a bit and he'll lay down"
- "Roll Over" (after you do the above trick, move the sylus back and forth across it's belly and he'll rollover)
- "Sneeze" (tap it's nose)
- "Paw" (tap any of it's paws)
-"Jump" (tap on above it's head, then tap in the air)
- "Enemy" (grab it's tail, and move it gently left and right, he'll start chasing it)

To find your trainer points, click on "Go out" then choose "info". I believe it's under Trainer accomplishments. I think when you reach a certain amount of points you begin to unlock the puppies.

that dog episode was pretty shitty though.

Is his dog's name Crypto? I got the name from the old Superman cartoons.

I can't get my dogs to remember any tricks besides the basic sit and lie down.

However, I'm a pro trainer with 3700 points.

I have a Yorkshire Terrier who is a Master at the Agility Trials named Sam.

I have a German Shep, who is an Expert at the Disc Competitions named Megan (I can't get her to advance past Expert).

I have a North American room/home thing, and about $1840.

You have to do them a few times before they remember. Also, when your dog does a trick, make sure you pet him right after so you get some little stars, otherwise, it will take longer for him to learn and he won't obey you.

I haven't touched any of my versions of Nintendogs. Quite frankly, I can't seem to tear mself away from Advance Wars and Killer 7 and with Radiata Stories and Rebelstar next week, looks like the dogs are going to be left out in the cold for quite some time. My younger brother on the other hand, he hasn't played anything other than his version of Nintendogs for days now.

Krypt0 - Siberian Husky
Tricks - Sit, Shake, Lie Down, Roll Over, Jump, Chase Tail, Shake Butt, Playful

I'm finding it less as less compeling. Not sure what to do to fix this.

Yeah, but the dog's only shown up in like 3 episodes at most i think. Plus it only actually had a proper role in the 1st ep that he appeared in, after that he was completely unused.

Can someone explain to me how the "time together" thing works in the info page on your dog? It's certainly not the total amount of hours you've played or anything, because mine stayed at "29" for like quite a while. What does this number represent?

koam said:
It's the amount of time you're actually with your puppy :) playing with it, walking it, etc..

Then is my copy messed up or something? It said 00:29 or something for like almost 2 hours straight of me playing with the dog, competitions, walking, etc.

Several hours of "playing" time later is says 00:35 now. ????

I think it's just the amount of time you've spent in the face-to-face mode with your dog, petting it and teaching it tricks. Walking time definitely isn't included.

That would make some sense, actually. I haven't done much of that sort of training yet. Only taught her two commands so far.. :lol

Also, when walking your dog, sometimes you pass by presents or boxes that aren't listed on the initial path you choose. Can you pick these up? I tap on them with the stylus but my dog just barks at me and sniffs the boxes and then walks past them.

pull the leash back so your dog stops.

i got bored of nintendogs pretty quickly and passed it on to a friend - she seems to be enjoying it more. i have 2 real dogs so playing with a fake one doesn't appeal (might have made sense to have a think about that before shelling out 50 bucks) interesting 'game' but not for me :P

Yeah, and here's another good tip. If you watch the upper screen while taking your dog on a walk, the little dog icon will come to a complete stop before the present/trash appears on the bottom screen, giving you time to stop your dog before it appears and scrolls by.

Also, for those who don't know, you can make your dog run and jump while walking to hugely speed up the process. Jerk the leash sharply towards the upper-right corner of the screen, and your dog should launch into a full sprint! Tug it again while your dog is running, and it'll do a little jump. It makes those boring walks much more fun, and works really nicely in tandem with the aforementioned present tip.

I never knew this either. Hot damn! Thanks a lot! :D

Got a question...can your Nintendog die? Can you teach it to attack other dogs?

Heh, I'm so ignorant when it comes to this title, Nintendo probably has a site for this game...gotta check that out.
