Some more Oblivion shots

These look a little blurry...I'm not sure how they were captured.

This game is forcing me to buy a 360!

And speaking of "force" is that the bounty hunter Bossk in the first picture?

some of them are old as in I have seen them in a magazine a week or so ago. These might aswell be from the magazine.

These are pretty realistic pic of how the game is really going to look like on Xbox 360. It still looks awesome, but Im getting the PC version.

umm...how about....all of the screens?

Still. Bloom lighting looks great in this game...plus it fits being a fantasy game n' all

Based on what I've seen...Oblivion is one of the few games to use Bloom lighting RIGHT...g'zus...it's like some of you guys hate the effect's very existance instead of misuse =\

No you are painfully wrong. The res is 4x less than what is supposed to be on xbox 360! That is a nice downgrade right there.

Erm no, everythings blurred and low res. It will look much better (even on SDTV).

Then why even released such pictures then? Kinda stupid if this isnt how the Xbox 360 version is going to look this fall.

What are you talking about? Of course that's not how it will look.

I play PC games on my HD all the time at 1280x720 and it's sharp as hell (looks more vibrant than my PC monitor). If you are using an old analog set, those shots might be accurate, but on an HD monitor it will look great.

They've even said that the 360 version will be superior this time.

These pics are not from Bethsoft (look at the URL). They are caps from somewhere else.

All 360 games so far run at 1280x720. Of that there is no question.

I do find it funny that the resolution of these shots is 640x360, though. I suppose that's the resolution you'd see on an old SDTV (640x480 with bars).

Fools! These are screencaps from an old video (E3 I believe) where the camera sweeps around the different locals of the world. The screens are blurry cause the camera is moving in all of these shots.

No, these are not from the E3 trailer. However, there is no real reason to try and explain them either. The game runs at 1280x720, so any shots not presented at that resolution are not accurate. They DO look as if they were capped from a video clip, though, just not the E3 trailer.

Im not talking about PC version. Im talking about the 360 version. I dont care what some PR has to say about Xbox 360 version being better. Sorry but my 2gig Ram isnt going to be out texture by a console that only has 512MB.

Ok that i can accept. Fair enough.

I'm not sure if the vid was from E3, but I'm 100% sure I've seen this video with the sweeping camera as I distinctly remember the reptile dude and the boat port area.

Still no picture to wipe my doubts about the drawing distance : P
Good to see some different settings though, and this better not be delayed !
I can't wait for this game.

p.s. did they really say x360 version will be superior to the pc one ?

Some are claiming it but i believe they mean from a price stand point.

Nope, it was performance and such. They might be exaggarating etc. as we have no idea how the game runs on Xbox 360 or PC.. but that is what they have been saying anyway. If you dont believe me check out the latest Oblivion threads as it has been quoted there a few times when people were in doubt.

Only time will tell which one will be better I believe there are two separate teams developing so there wont be a port. The pc version will have more options thats for sure with the mods and what not, and will be able to play in higher resolutions than the xbox version but...only God knows what kind of system you would need for that to be smooth gforce 7800 , WD raptor drive raid, athlon 4000 or more etc etc, costs a pretty penny these days.

this thread quoted this from 1up;

Having Xbox 360-quality visuals on the PC is definitely possible, but you'll need a monster of a machine. "The advantage of the Xbox 360 is that it's designed to run our game, period. You know if you have a 360 it will look as good as it can possibly look," said Pete Hines, VP of public relations at Bethesda, in an interview with The Console Wars. "If you have the latest, greatest PC with the best video card, etc., it will probably look the same as the Xbox 360 version. Anything else will probably lag behind."

Not only does Bethesda expect the Xbox 360 version to allow some of the best graphics, but they simply recommend the console version outright over the PC game. That's not to say there's any less effort being poured into the PC version, but in terms of ease-of-use and bang-for-your-buck, they say picking up an Xbox 360 makes sense.

lol, I'm searching all over and I can't find it. It may be part of some montage. I'm still searching though.

I'm worried that they're not showing off the draw distance anymore. The very first screens of the game showed an insane draw distance, but all of these shots are taken like Morrowind, and that game had a horrible draw distance.

Yeah. I'm starting to worry too, but Steve said they are using different lod models for all landmass and for the bigger/most important buildings etc, and that the draw distance will be "very, very good".
We don't know what that means though :)

First things first: WHERE'S YOUR SHITTER? I've got a turtle-head poking out. /Fatbastard

I've been staring at that pic for like 5 minutes and I cannot figure out what the hell is with that thing's head.

Yeah the colors are all messed up on these shots. It almost looks like they scanned them from their own magazine and then posted them online.

Draw distance -- if it's not foggy, and you're up high enough you can see for miles & miles.

The Argonian is a male and is "bald" -- they also have a variety of crests, horns and spikes you can choose for their head, plus you can alter their coloration somewhat and change the shapes of their heads when you create your character. While they do stand more upright than the ones in Morrowind (and thus are more like the Argonians from Daggerfall and Arena,) they do still have tails.

The shots are not from any video -- they are from a group of screenshots we provided to several European magazines that are now on newsstands.

There's only one team, the game is being developed for PC and Xbox360 simultaneously. There are a lot of video options to make the game scaleable to a wide variety of systems. We're still optimizing, so no minimum system specs yet.

Oh, and here is the whole set of screenshots, some old & some new. You can click where it says Bild in Originalgröße to see the pictures in full size. The colors are still strange, though. There's a shot of the stats menu, too.
