Heaven help whoever stole it (if true)! Sam Jackson doesn't suffer thieves and fools.
For a high-profile movie with an ensemble cast, The Avengers has remained surprisingly secretive, with even the inclusion of the villain Loki uncertain until Marvel officially announced it just yesterday. Its not Dark Knight Rises-secretive, mind you, but the studio has managed to keep a fairly tight lid on leaks.
That is until someone apparently got his hands on a copy of Joss Whedons script. And not just any copy Samuel L. Jacksons copy.
Obsessed With Film revealed today that it was contacted by an anonymous source looking to negotiate terms for a 129-page shooting script under the production title Group Hug belonging, at least briefly, to Nick Fury himself. Asked for proof, the source offered up photos of some of the pages, all bearing enormous SAMUEL L. JACKSON watermarks and offering a glimpse of dialogue between Black Widow, Iron Man and Bruce Banner in a scene presumably set on the damaged S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.
The script certainly looks legitimate. But unless Obsessed With Film, or another website, is willing to cough up some cash and then run the Disney legal gauntlet, we probably wont know for sure at least until we hear Scarlett Johansson speak the words Doctor Bruce, its okay, Ill get you out of this.
The Avengers, which opens May 4, 2012, stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, and Samuel L. Jackson, who should probably keep a better eye on his script. Its shooting now in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
