Elizabeth Olsen cast as the Scarlet Witch in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

When I found out about her, I was like "There is another." and she better looking + more talented. Best Olsen indeed.
Headdress is already confirmed out...going with the cape would just look odd. She might have a red peasant cloak at some point, though.
her other costuime designs that don't rely on the headdress are things like the crossing:
and her house of M dress:
of course, they could always go with her original headdress...
Hawkeye looks nothing like his normal self (based on his Ultimate costume instead). I believe Whedon already said they're not going for the headdress tiara mask thing.

Good luck making that costume seem reasonable with live actors.
For the record, I thought Loki's outfit was pretty damn stupid too (when he had his helmet out) but at least it had justification as an Asgardian outfit.
And I know it's going to take about 20 seconds before someone links a more reasonable iteration than the classic Scarlet Witch look, so shoot away. I'd be happy to get proven wrong. I think the House of M dress above is alright, but still comes off as sort of medieval.

Because there likely won't be a good reason to give her an outlandish costume. There MIGHT be, but it's unlikely. Remember all the other costumes have a justification. Cap is a patriotic symbol from another age, Iron Man is flashy and treats the suit like a car, and Thor is from an alien world. Hawkeye and Black Widow on the other hand veer more towards a utilitarian soldier commando outfit because that's what makes sense for them as spy/soldiers.

It's gonna be pretty hard to make this type of outfit look serious on film, I think. As sexy as it is. Whatever we get will be a lot more utilitarian. We might not even get a costume and just get generic clothes if she's a freak of nature and not an actual Avenger.

Then can figure out something to give Wanda her signature look.

By modifying Captain America's suit into something a real life soldier would wear, it looks fine.
When they tried to make it more faithful to the comics, it looks garish.

Well this is Joss Whedon, so I expect there to be a lot less skin and cleavage, which should help a lot.

they can always, somehow, connect her to Thor's universe... she would fit right in with Thor + Loki's costumes.
(Wanda + Pietro can be separated at birth, and Wanda was taken to Thor's universe because of her powers...)

Uggghhh, I'll never understand why they changed his costume for Avengers. The top one is SO GOOD. Probably the only good thing about First Avenger

The colors are bright and pop which match the tone of the movie. You don't want Cap fading into the background.
