Someone remind me to preorder a PS3 in the runup to its european launch. Hehe...that actually reminds me of the scenes in Paris with people almost wrestling each other for PS2s.

Also, NGO's math was all wrong. 1000x PS2 poly performance wouldn't be 66 trillion polys/sec but 66 billion polys/sec (or 70..whatever the peak rate was). See? The media really is half of the hype problem

I remember reading in some really old 1994 game magazine that PSX would have a blue laser that would enable it to have much faster CD reading or much more data on a disc, or something like that. Sounds an awful lot like Blu-Ray to me... how long has it been known?
Or was someone just speculating? It IS fairly easy to assume that a blue laser would allow more data because of simple physics.
