As much as I can't stand that guy, I'd actually maybe agree with him if I were to give Avowed a chance because I really disliked Clair Obscure.

It would be more of a 'which game sucked less' comparison though.

I don't really see an issue with this. He has a very unpopular opinion about some games. That's going to happen here and there. I personally don't think The Witcher 3 is a good game and I loved The Witcher 2. Some things just wont click with people. I understand my opinion is in the minority and I live with that everyday.

I wouldn't go that far, but I too loved Avowed. E33 is better, but Avowed gets some hate for some reason. It's really a great game.

It kind of is the second coming of a very specific type of game though, that being a 90s style JRPG.

I don't really compare the games against each other or anything though. They're pretty different.

I played Avowed all the way to the ending credits. It's decent. Not great, Not bad either.
I think I'm going to bail on Clair Obscur, not because of the writing. It's the old standard stand across from the enemy and trade numbers back and forth game play that got tiring.

Other than the 2 months after it came out, I see way more complaints about the "Expedition 33 glaze" than I see actual people glazing E33.
It's like the new Breath of the Wild in how it makes some people desperate to let everyone know that they didn't like the game.
