OMNOMNOMNOM! :D

I'M HYPED!

A couple of quick shops:

Fixed the smile, and butt-brow be gone!

I don't really like how Tails came out in this one, but Sonic actually looks pretty nice.

That looks better, Sonic has rapey eyes or something in the first pic. Like his Heroes CG render.

No one show him the title screen for Sonic 3, he might pass out.

Heheh! Actually I'm hyped for anything sonic-related. Especially when it looks promising.

I have nothing against Tails, nor Knuckles. Any friends after them, like Big the Cat for example, are terrible imo.

Is this the last episode?

I hope they release a bundle.

Yeah, they'd probably go to at least Episode 3 for Knuckles' inclusion.

That smile is much better now that you've fixed it in both of them.

The Classic Tails looks slightly off, but honestly, the logos are much better now that Sonic's improved...

Needs more floating island Angel Island.

Don't you appreciate the new minimalistic style?

Actually, something occurred to me when I was making that joke image, then looked back at the Episode 2 logo. Episode 1 logo sprite rip on the left.

It looks like they pretty much just moved his hand, and that's about it.

Edit: Excuse me, they moved his arms a little bit too.

What and skip the chance on recreating this with modern designs and a weird smirk that looks totally off?

nah

.....but I actually like the way that title screen looked with Sonic falling from the sky.

Interesting how a couple of changes to the logo and it looks normal to me now O_o.

He was saying that they would ruin it with modern crap.

Yeah, it's a shame we can do this in a couple of minutes. It would take minimal effort to fix, but for some reason Sega:

a) Doesn't know we find it creepy
b) Doesn't care
c) Is too lazy/cheap
d) Actually likes the way it looks (God I hope not)

Ah, when I was little, the Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles logos blew me away with the backgrounds, or how Sonic ended up in the logo/title screen. They seemed more creative than the previous two logos.

All of the levels are going to take place in the White Space that Sonic Generations' hub world was in. I can handle it.

New assets are expensive!

Meh.. Sonic and Tails are looking a little stiff in that logo. NSMB level of stiff. Also, does Tails want to sock Sonic in the face!?

(also, people consider tails and knuckles shitty friends? wth)

Wait why does Sonic have green eyes? I thought Sonic Generations FIXED THE TIMELINE!!
No. You see, Generations is what messed up the timeline in the first place.
Classic Sonic saw all the different moves that Modern Sonic has so he tries to learn them like the homing attack and he also likes the way Modern Sonic looks so he goes on a diet and gets green contact lenses to try and look like him.

Fix Modern Sonic's eyes to black, his huge eyebrow and stupid smirk and most people are happy with him - or at least think he looks a lot better. I personally tend to think his spikes are overly massive on Modern Sonic too, but that might just be me.

Mmkay, real talk. Christian Whitehead (Retro Engine for Sonic CD) confirms that he's not working on Sonic 4 Episode 2 in any capacity whatsoever.

In a Twitter post made over the Holidays, Whitehead confirms he has no role in the ongoing episodic series…at least not right now. Whitehead also speculates the physics and game mechanics seen in the Nintendo 3DS edition of Sonic Generations may be the standard for Episode 2.

“I’m not working on Sonic 4… yet,” Whitehead said, adding an emoticon. “I’m pretty sure Generations 3DS is the benchmark for the DIMPS physics boffins.”
This is interesting, because the Classic Sonic physics were pretty good in Sonic Generations 3DS.

Classic Sonic's physics in Generations 3DS were closer to the Genesis games than its' HD counterpart, so if anything this is good news.

yes, it's been quite the amazing journey hasn't it? we learned nothing, didn't grow up at all, and will be forever unchanged in our worldview.

With comments like this, yes you're right.

Sonic's design is important to people, but don't pretend like that is all we care about. We discuss all aspects of the game, whether that is the gameplay, music, or art.

Episode 2 has been rated by the ESRB and also lists PC (not like the PC listing will surprise anyone)

I suppose this means the game is coming out real soon. I don't think games are usually rated by the ESRB until they get close to release, right?

It depends, sometimes they can still be months away.

and are accompanied by colorful impact effects.
"The Sonic 4 engine has been improved... We added sparks!"

Not necessarily. There were a few games rated on PS3 like Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 that were rated back in 2007/2008 (not sure) and only came out last year, some haven't come out yet like Super HangOn PS3 and EarthBound Wii VC.

But in most cases, yeah.

I'm guessing they're more sure of a release window then Episode 1. They started development almost a year ago so they should be well along.
