Diablos said:Let me just say that all of these Sonic Collections are ridiculous.
For $30, Sega should sell one big Sonic collection DVD for PS2, XBox, GameCube, and PC.
It will have literally EVERY Sonic game released, for every console/handheld, from Sonic 1 to, say, Sonic Adventure 2.

Sonic Mega Collection was an incredible deal when it debuted at $35 -- the entire original Genesis Sonic library (again, that's five individual games, not counting the +Knuckles variations), plus (in the US) a neat little arcade game that inspired part of the Sonic universe and an excellent unrelated platformer. It was an even better deal in the Plus edition on the other consoles at $20.
Sonic Adventure DX was nearly as good a deal -- every Sonic- or Tails-related Game Gear game as bonus games in addition to the main game. Can you imagine Nintendo including, say, all the Mario and Wario Land games with Mario 64 DS?
This one's not quite a steal, but it's pretty generous: a great platformer, a great fighter if you're an AM2 fan, a fair little racing game, two Genny platformers (one quite good, the other middling), and six Game Gear games (four of which are worth playing), all for $30.
Sega is very generous with these comps, it just doesn't put out enough of them.

They are basically the weakest of the 16/32 bit generation, and would have been a very nice addition to the whole collection, so you would have EVERY game. Chucking them onto another set of games just seems silly.
That's why I've written Nights (of course Christmas Nights too ^^) on the list. The last two missing Sonic titles + one of the best platformers of the 32/64 bit Generation should make many people buy such a collection. Sonic Gems doesn't have that good games too, besides Sonic CD. Sonic R and Sonic the Fighters at least in my opinion can't stand against Sonic CD, but Sonic CD will sell the Gems Collection, as well, as Nights should sell a last Sonic Collection.Rlan said:That's the problem though. If so, damn baby, you Americanos are getting the shaftings!
Told you soTortfeasor said:Sonic Fighters on the other had is just great.
IIRC, you just have to beat all the fighters prior to Metal Sonic/Eggman without losing. It's been a while, though.Once question, how do you turn super sonic in sonic fighters?
Zeo said:Any word on the music in Sonic CD? Maybe the Japanese soundtrack is hidden somehow?
goodcow said:Not on the Cube one.
Marty Chinn said:I got the Cube version today and I haven't been able to find it yet. This is the first time I've ever heard the US soundtrack and god I can't stand it. I had to pop in my Mega CD version just to listen to the redbook audio on my PC. I got it for free but I need to get another version now if some version has the Mega CD soundtrack. It's like infinitely better.
Zeo said:Is this confirmed? ):
goodcow said:According to someone I know who makes various AR codes for Sonic Team games, yes.
The Experiment said:I just got the Japanese Cube version in and played around with it. I have no idea what the Japanese soundtrack is like for Sonic CD. All I can say is that the game itself is pretty confusing, with the time travel elements. Its like I had no idea what the hell was going on quite frankly. I didn't get into it much but I will later.

You hit a time travel marker, and if you run fast enough for a sustained period of time you warp into the past or future, with different music, graphics, and level design. How is this confusing?
The Experiment said:I wasn't sure how the game actually works. The manual isn't in English and I don't think I ever played Sonic CD in general, let alone a Japanese version.
goodcow said:Well, I still think it should've been easy enough to realize that if you hit a past marker, run, there's a trail behind you, and if you do it long enough there's a short time travel sequence, followed by new graphics and music, and a "P" for past near the life icon.
Yeah, by quite a bit. Sonic and Sonic 2 were the most "Sonic-like," but the poor speed/framerate suffered by Sonic Chaos and Triple Trouble are almost made up for by the excellent graphic style and great level design. Labyrinth is mediocre and Blast is utter garbage, but otherwise the GG games are really portable Sonic.CoryCubed said:Anyone else think that the gamegear games feel more like sonic than the gba ones?
