Starfield will come to Switch 2 in 2026 - NateTheHate

"See that planet? You can go there."

...and then walk a few km worth of fuck all, with a few copy-pasted elements thrown into the mix, after which you'll have to fast-travel to another location full of fuck all.

Will be interesting to see how Starfield will be received on those systems.

I think it will do well on PS5, it's a good game despite missing the high expectations for a new AAA rpg from Bethesda.

On Switch 2 I have doubts if can find an audience

Skyrim is one of the most successful third party games on Switch

You're taking a game that has 9000 loading screens for consoles with ssd's and you're porting it to the switch 2... Have fun with that.
Switch 2 has SSD equivalent loading speeds because it uses UFS and microSD Express

But even with good loading this game sucks, so that's irrelevant

Man, I don't know. I love Skyrim, but everything I've heard about this game since it released has made me think I won't enjoy it.

That said, I had a lot of gun with No Man's Sky, so ... maybe I'll grab it on sale someday.

But Skyrim was a huge success, Starfield not. That's why I think it can have a relative success on PS5, but on Nintendo where the base is more focused on first party, it will be a tough sell.

Starfield will do roughly as well won both. Both Switch and PlayStation have an audience for open world RPGs; the question is how well it does, I have a feeling the game would have been a big success off the bat if it had been multiplatform (in spite of all its various issues), will it still reach that level of success now that it has 3 years of poor WoM? Remains to be seen.

The most mediocre game i've played from Bethesda. No one would miss anything by this not being ported to other platforms
I thought it was a very good game. Solid 8.5/10 and I hope we get a Starfield 2 because the concept is awesome.

I wouldn't play it on the Switch though, high-end PC is the way to go.

Respectfully disagree, despite having gotten all the achievements outside of the DLC. The more I played the more I couldn't help but realize that it was just an inferior version of every other similar game. No Mans Sky did exploration, building, and survival better. Elite Dangerous does space combat and commerce better. Destiny does planetside gunplay and gear RPG elements better. Even the plot of the game isn't anything special, it's a bog standard multiverse/extra dimensional plot that's been used in comics and sci-fi for literal decades. They didn't even really put any kind of novel spin on it.

It was decent enough that I wanted to get all the achievements for the hell of it, but once I was done, I was done. Unlike a game like Skyrim or Oblivion or even New Vegas, all of which I kept coming back to for months -- sometimes years -- on end. I tried coming back to Starfield when they added the 60fps patch and again when Shattered Skies released and neither held my interest enough to make me want to play again.

This and the port of Indiana Jones will lose money. How is MS going to cope with the reality that just because you port to every platform on earth doesn't mean you'll make back more money than you spent?

As long as the game sales cover the porting costs it's a good idea no?

This has got to be one of the most overhyped games ever. I remember when it was going to be the savior of Xbox. Honestly, I think it should stay there.

Now you get to play it with even shitter performance.

I got the game for free with an AMD purchase few years back and I still feel I got ripped off
