I just cant think of anything in the Sony conference that has a possibility of blowing my mind.

Square is already working on too many projects to announce another new games.

DQ11 cant possibly be shown at E3.

There's no reason to put it on PS4 if they aren't specifically shooting for western markets. There's a chance.

What are the odds we'll see Persona 5 on stage at Sony's conference?

Really, really low? Even if we don't get major surprises they've got enough first-party trailers and new games to show that P5 wouldn't be a major priority, I wouldn't think.

Does it matter? We'll still get new gameplay/info this week regardless.

I'm having Vietnam flashbacks to the year Playstation Move and Kinect ruined E3. I hope they don't spend too much time on PSVR, but I know it will overstay its welcome.

it has to be there!

I don't troll, lol

Anyway, I don't think we're going to get OMFG SHOCKING WHAT like last year but we should get a lot of games from a lot of first party studios and a lot of VR. It will be a full show, but I doubt it will be like HALF LIFE 3!!!

E3. E and 3. Half-Life 3 can also be written as HALF-LIFE3. E3, there it is.

Then we have, Shenmue 3, which gives us another 3, which was one of three dream games announced at Sony's press conference, with TLG and FF7, which makes three games.

Half-Life 3 confirmed.

What are the odds we'll see Persona 5 on stage at Sony's conference?

Eh, low i'd say. At most, we get a trailer either before the show or after the show. lol again, you guys heard Gopher D's & various other teases - the one common denominator is that they want to show things you haven't seen anywhere else yet. You've already seen Persona 5. You even know its launch date. Unless they're doing a gameplay demo on stage, and lets face it - turn based RPGs don't make for great E3 conference fodder, then expect to see gameplay demos of things you haven't seen.

10 minutes for Call of Duty
10 minutes for Star Wars-related stuff
10 minutes for PSVR-related stuff
10 minutes for other 3rd-party deals or trailers (WD2? FFXV? etc)
5-6 minutes for Indies
5-6 minutes for Horizon gameplay
5-6 minutes for Detroit gameplay
5-6 minutes for TLG trailer/gameplay
5-6 minutes for God of War 4 reveal
5-6 minutes for Dead Don't Ride reveal
5-6 minutes for new 1st-party announcement

If they're planning a conference around 90 minutes I foresee anywhere from 70-80 minutes already taken up by the bare minimum. Very tight window to talk about much else.

Agreed, if Persona 5 was gonna be on stage I imagine they would have waited until the Conference to have the date.

I think if the game would have made release this year it might have possibly made the conference for the huge applause a 2016 reveal date at the end of the trailer might have gotten for such a desired game, but with the trailer coming out before E3 and the date already being announced for 2017 I don't know how likely it is. I do think it will be in some sizzle reels though since it looks so good visually.

I agree if they aren't going to say something about it at e3 they might as well kept it a 3ds exclusive

Time to treat dq a lot better over here

It would be fantastic if they put it on at an E3 whenever they get closer to release.

Even during gaming christmas, Atlus makes sure EU has to hold that L.

Yoshida's a Persona (and Chie) fanboy, so that may be about his own personal excitement.

Yup. As high up the Playstation totem as he is, he doesn't call the shots for what makes it in the conference.... Even more so if it's 3rd-party stuff.

Heck his own stuff are probably trimmed out of conferences when Adam Boyes brings 3rd-party. megatons to the table.

Expect GOW4 reveal to be either in the beginning of the show or at the end. Something like that, kept in secret for so long time must either start the show or mostly be the best epilogue for it (unless tthey have a more impressive looking game or a never expected exclusive as a reserve). Don't expect a live gameplay walkthrough (5-6 minutes) for the first disclosure of this new epic from the series.

There's no way PSVR segment and its games only get 10 minutes. It's launching in 4 months, this is the E3 to sell it. I expect some big first party title announcement.. ND is making a VR game, aww yeah!

Eh, in practice it's not too bad. I expect it to be a 10 minutes mix-up of :

- 1-2 new announcements done very quickly
- release date
- PSVR montage of upcoming games

I think a teaser would be weak for GoW. Maybe not 5-6 minutes, but at a bare minimum I expect a 3 minutes non-gameplay teaser that really sells the new setting.

Yes. That is what I meant: a trailer as long as the Horizon trailer (around 2-3 minutes) is the perfect scenario for the conference. Maybe an extended one released online later just like the short conference trailers from Quantic Dream then the full ones later.

I expect Battlefront VR to be the marquee focus of PSVR , and I've bled that into the 10 minutes I expect SW will get even though there are no new games for SW this year.

I don't know how you DEMO VR, so I think that it will take up a lot of time but each individual component will be fast. You can't demo like...oh here's a worse looking version of Battlefront than the one you have...watch someone awkwardly play it.

I know I'm a broken record, but I really want Yakuza 0 on stage. Just some kind of quick trailer. Hell, I'd even take a dedicated spot in a montage.

PlayStation YouTube channel is launching a lot of indie and VR games before E3. It's wise to not "waste" their time on this at the stage. Just showing the games logos and a montage.

I'm wishing they will let their main VR games have space as their AAA titles. Even not been a wise choice.

And they call themselves Atlus. Hypocrites, I tell you!

EU: "Hey Atlus, what about us?"

Atlus Shrugged.

Biggest thing they can do with PSVR is open up more freakin' preorders.

Man I'm glad I will be here on Gaf this year to share this E3 with all of you. The discussion when good is real good, I hope we all have some portions of each our dreams come true.

This is one good way: PlayStation VR social demo amazes crowd of developers

But well... It can go pretty wrong PlayStation VR Demo Disaster - PSX 2015 :P

And yet, most won't get the difference between seen a screen and using the HMD :/

Its hard to demo VR with a game thats been on shelves for a year now, even if it is VR. Honestly, I don't even know if there is any guarantee the Star Wars Battlefront VR that PSVR will get is last year's - it could totally be next year's game. And at that rate, they can also launch it on Scorpio with Oculus VR support.

I don't think the VR section will be as long as people are expecting it to be. Montage, focus on a few games through videos, talk release details again, and encourage people to try it on the show floor. End.

I can see VR being the lat 3rd of the show.

Sort of like how Vita was that one year (and kind of fell flat as a result)

I dunno. Maybe you do that then after you announce the date for PS VR you go "and we have one more thing" and then you close on your God of War 4 teaser.

Okay, since we're two days away I'm going to make my prediction for Sony's conference:

- The conference opens with a sizzle reel set to an upbeat song. It shows off PS4 games released this year, a well as some of the games announced throughout 2015 that have yet to be released.

- "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Shawn Layden!" Shawn Layden walks on stage. He's not wearing a shirt that would tease an upcoming game - perhaps he may not even be wearing a shirt at all. Shawn Layden says "It's been a great year for PlayStation. We shipped Uncharted 4 and Ratchet & Clank to critical and commercial acclaim. We also shipped Hardware Rivals. Remember Hardware Rivals?" Shawn mentions sales numbers, network stats, etc. Anyhow, on with the show!

- Sony Bend rep comes on stage. (Dead Don't Ride gameplay demo.)

- Herman Hulst comes on stage. (Horizon: Zero Dawn demo.)

- Shuhei Yoshida takes the stage. "Last year I had the honour of reannouncing one gaming's most anticipated releases. Today were here to give you an extended look at The Last Guardian!" (The Last Guardian Demo)

- "But that's not all Japan Studio has been working on," says Shu, "we have one more surprise from Mark Cerny!' (Knack 2 trailer)

- Shawn Layden comes back on stage. He's wearing a Legend of Dragoon t-shirt. But he's here to announce Crash Bandicoot! Sony will also be bringing the original trilogy to PS4 as updated PSOne Classics. (Crash Bandicoot trailer) Shawn also mentions that Crash will be available as in the new Skylanders as a PS4 exclusive. This let's us segue into...

- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare demo

- Destiny Rise of Iron demo

- Ubisoft rep comes on stage. Exclusive content for Watch_Dogs 2. (I'd also guess that if Ubi shows off a new game during their conference it might appear on stage again here in some capacity).

- Stage presence given to either one 2K title or EA title.

- Gio Corsi comes out on stage. It's indie time!

- Trailer for Insomniac's Spider-man game.

- Andrew House comes on stage. Talks about Sony's great partnership with Marvel/Disney. Then there's some talk about VR, complete with a sizzle reel.

- Shawn Layden comes back on stage. He says they have one last thing to show. (God of War IV demo)
