Sony introduces the next evolution of noise cancelling, WH-1000XM6 headphones

The difference is I don't buy Steinway.

Yes, my headphones are not comparable to these. Are they 5x-6x better. Not even close.

The point is that I'll pay more for better quality. I could buy some sub £50 JBL headphones, but why when I can afford better?

Your cheaper Sony headphones are 5x better than the XM6? To be clear, the XM6 are not the best headphones money can buy. They are probably the best general consumer headphones you can get for that price point.

Seems like an unbiased review
(he also mentions the hinges)

Personally, for 450, I think that the all-plastic build is generally unacceptable, there should always be some metal at the stress points (hinges usually).

The XM6 does have metal reinforcement at the hinges.

smart

Imagine the smell of that :messenger_poop:🤢🤮😷
That's a lot of effort to make sure he can't hear people calling him a cunt.

Been wanting to buy a 1000XM5 for a while. Really enjoyed how lightweight they felt when i tried them on.

Noise cancelling is getting so good that you can barely hear anything outside of what you are listening to and/or what game your playing. I'm using JBL's Quantum One's and they're pretty impressive especially the 3-D sound profiling. It's fantastic. But therein the problem I think, with noise cancelling. Systems /headsets integrating the tech need some toggle smh, for some kind of motion alert (girlfriend or wife standing nearby shouting at you as example :messenger_grinning_sweat:), inclement weather warning , extraterrestrial arrival news conference, nuclear armageddon tips for survival (I've actually submitted the idea to Turtle Beach some years ago). Games are getting so immersive, it's too easy to tune out the outside world.

I'd love to try these to compare to my XM5's. I've had the XM5's since they came out and I really like them but have noticed the room for improvement and I use them a fair amount due to migraines and head pain in general. Also have the XM5 earbuds so I can sleep with them in and they are great as well.

You use the JBLs for gaming ? how ? Aren't they BT only ? (i.e , consoles do not support them and even on PC there's bound to be audio lag).

Honest question

If you click his link it shows 3.5m, 2.4ghz, and a few different options to connect? The page is broken on mobile but seems like it offers a few connectivity options.

In a world where headphones routinely cost over $400, and some of the most popular ones cost $550, I find some of the price complaints on the gaming side of this forum to be confusing.

Someone sell me on these. I mean spec wise vs the other models of the same line or competition. Of course, I don't expect these to compete with 2k+ cans but I have earbuds. I gave my Senheisers 598's away long ago and haven't had a set since then.

Yes for PC. You can use them for anything. There's adapter's for everything (Amazon), especially audio stuff, not sure if you're aware. Also, JBL also has their own app (QuantumEngine) for PC for adjusting audio. For my console (PS5 Pro) I use a pair of *Razor Kraken's V3 which have excellent spatial audio (THX) as well, when calibrated with the Pro's integrated spatial audio profiler.
