Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

I'm not sure that we can read it that way.

All Shu is telling us is that "Don't be concerned that our SCEE press conference will somehow be downgraded in announcements because we're choosing a smaller gaming show to coincide with our press conference as opposed to Gamescom."

I still don't get why there are people refuse to believe that sony delayed their GC conference to PGW because of the unfortunate timing of GC this year.

Maybe we'll finally hear about Ovosonico's PS4 Project?

They're the guys who made Murasaki Baby for SCE. They're based in Italy and are developing a new game for PlayStation 4 (source). Former Ubisoft Montreal designer Riccardo Landi (previous works) is the Lead Game Designer on the project. This tweet from Sony XDev Europe from the same time the announcement was made suggests Sony is publishing.

I don't think there will be anything big, PGW is way smaller event than Gamescon or E3 (at it was 2 years ago). I don't see the point to unveil some big games at this conference...

There was ~270K visitors at last year's PGW. And as for Sony's presence there, they will have gamescom-level pressconf there [so we can expect a lot of great unveils and big focus on indies].

Yea I just saw that on wikipedia. Also the size went from 32 000 m² to 50 000 m².
I'll take a look this year if the tickets aren't sold out

I see people too confident about seein Wild in PGW. Guys, it's Michel Ancel. It's likely that the game won't be released until at least 2018. I'd say we have more chances to see GT7, GoW4, brand new Wipeout, Siphon Filter by Kojima and David Cage's Parappa the Drama 3 being announced there than Wild gameplay.

No Wild this year, we'd get Rime, Alienation and NMS playable at booth instead covering this spot. Hell, even Witness or Shadow of the Beast can be there.

Interview from today with Michel Ancel:

At the very end (9:23), the interviewer asks what's the advancement of his projects, he says that he has WiLD with Sony and an other big project with Ubisoft, and when the interviewer asks if we're going to see WiLD at PGW, Ancel says "I don't know hahaha" (from his face: 99% Wild is at PGW).

Thanks for sharing it.

Well, in addition to be working in Wild he is supposed to be at least involved with Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Rayman Adventures. Did he say something about them? Maybe he was refering to one of them?

No. Just "a big project with Ubi that he can't talk about it, otherwise Ubi will instantly kill him"

What's this about GC/PGW being SCEE's showing ?

SCEE unveiled what's probably their biggest games at this year E3 (Dreams and Horizon), and Sony presented many japanese games at their european conference over the year (Pupeteer, Rain, The Tomorrow Children, ...). Not to mention we regularly have new trailers for their american productions at GC.

SCEA organized the E3 conference.

I think this is what people refers to, but this does not prevent European projects being shown at the E3 conference or vice versa.

Hoping to see TLG gameplay, MP for U4, Horizon gameplay, Quantum dream game, GT 7, GOW

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies!

Jordan has said no GT7 for PGW though a post over at GTPlanet this morning might be something or nothing?

I won't wait the next GT at the PS experience...
I just bought my ticket for the PGW.

He posted 7 GTP flag smilies underneath the post and he's in Paris. Anyone else hearing anything?

I mean in terms of the organisers of the event.

I havent bought my tickets yet but do these exhibitions get sold out? I also what times are best to go in order to secure some time at the demo desks? I was thinking opening day and the last day.

What's Rayman Adventures?

NM, I even made a gif from the trailer. Forgot it was called that.

I remember this thread from a few months ago and frankly, I'm surprised it's getting so little attention.

Anyway, I know we've seen 30 minutes of Uncharted 4, but I just keep wanting more of it. I'm really hoping for at least a multiplayer demo at PGW and maybe a story trailer. I really want to see QD's new game too. The Dark Sorcerer looked amazing. Also, I think we will get a short teaser of GT7. ;)

ND confirmed they won't show singleplayer anymore so i think we will see multiplayer instead.

Wait, they did. Do you have a link for this? I'm kinda disappointed to hear this, but it's probably for the best.

I read it on GAF, some gaffer posted it so i can't remember where to find it. Sr :(

Kinda Funny E3 interview with Bruce/Neil.

To be precise. they didn't say they won't show more. It's just that in the opinion of Bruce/Neil, they would prefer to just bunker down and get the game done, period. And in the same interview, they mentioned the importance of not showing too much, so those created kind of a mixed message.

Besides, it's not entirely their decision to make. If Balestra/Wells/Yoshida/Rohde wants a vertical slice/show more, they're going to have to obey their bosses. ;)

I hope that is true. Don't show more gameplay of your SP. People will buy regardless.
I know it's for the best, but I'm weak. I need more Uncharted 4 to soften the blow of the delay. :(

Ok, thanks for this.

What I took from that was no more flashy stage demos. They will likely have demos for the press to go hands on with before the game releases and that will likely be released to the public at some point as they need people to keep interested. Those demos will probably be less press conference material and show off more of the down moments in the gameplay.

Also we will definitely get a story trailer before release which should have some juicy new footage.

Thanks. I'm sure i read it somewhere here but can't remember :p

I wonder if they'll talk much about PSVR or if that will be more of a PSX thing. I'd love for Dreams and No Man's Sky to be confirmed for PSVR, but I would think they'd want to wait for an event where they can just blow out all the PSVR info at once.

Yeah, we sure aren't getting any other set pieces spoiled, but I would really like a demo of the new climbing mechanics we've only seen glimpses of, for example. This way we'd have content for both PGW and PSX (the other demo being of course for the multiplayer), then radio silence until a launch blowout with a trailer.

SCEE's biggest games are Horizon, QD's title and perhaps something new from Sony London. So they still have 1-2 big titles left to announce.

I guess I'm the only guy here who wants Media Molecule to let us play with actual PlayStation Characters' model in Dreams.

Kinda like how valve let's you can fiddle around with TF2 character models in SFM.

I mean. If Sony is not even going to bother to touch their deserted IPs like Syphon Filter and Ape Escape. At least let us play around with Gabriel Logan's and Spike's character models.

Just means he'll be attending PGW since he's already from Paris.

Reads to me like it infers GT7 will be at PGW. Then again, I'm itching to see GT7 in action and I'm scrutinising every post with a fine-tooth comb.

If he was just excited to get his tickets for the show, why post in a GT7 hype thread in that manner...

My guess is that Media Molecule teased Dreams @ E3, and will let more people know how the game actually plays at PGW. Hopefully that should answer a lot of people's questions.

I hope Naughty Dog shows off UC4 MP, but they may leave that to the December Playstation event, which coincides right before the beta I believe.

The beta actually happens one day before PSX IIRC, so it'd make more sense to show if off at PGW

What's up with thatgamecompany? Journey's going to be 4 years old soon and we haven't heard a thing since. I wonder if they had a change of heart and is collaborating with Sony again.

When was the last time an American first party project was revealed at a European event?
