Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

In the audience to watch everyone else's games being shown except his, he'll nod off to sleep when/if Shu get's on stage.
Him being in the audience might indicate its not getting revealed, however there is another director working on it alongside him this time, so he might handle the presentation on stage.

PlayStation France confirmed that David Cage will be in the audiance (obviously, he's french). And yeah Uncharted 4 was supposed to be shown in an 'interesting' way (source: http://www.gameblog.fr/news/53953-conference-ps4-et-enjeux-de-la-paris-games-week-playstation- ).

I am hoping for at least a story trailer, or at maybe some info about the villains. We have such little info on the story; I need to know!!! :P

That's great IMO, we know nothing, complete opposite of UC3. I hope they will not show any more gameplay (we already have 30 minutes of gameplay, it looks nuts, we are all sold, no need to show more).

One story trailer, one multplayer trailer, and that's all. Please Naughty Dog do not repeat the Uncharted 3 mistake.

You may want to edit that last line!

You are right, but i am weak!

Aha, also this

Or he might just not talk. Ueda at E3 was in the audience.
Well thats what I said (and hope) ;)

If you're expressing disappointment at David Cage being in the audience, then you're probably going to blow your brains out when he walks on stage to present Quantic Dream's new game.
Or he thinks it confirms it wont be announced, since he obviously wont move from his audience seat to the stage mid conference. Although I doubt the French site knows these specifics and probably just wanted to say that he is there at some capacity. Plus there is a chance he wont even be the one announcing it, as this isnt his sole baby this time around.

I had already jumped to that conclusion.. I probably shouldn't be so cynical but I just can't stand his writing.

Really ? That gives me some hope as I have no opposition to this type of game design. Do you know what the other writers have worked on?

Nope, it's based on old news.

"Three people is not a lot when you are writing a script between 1,500 and 3,000 pages long," Fondaumière said. "For now, Beyond is entirely written by David but on our next project we’ll have a team around him that is already giving very positive signs."

Announcements for HR and Beyond remasters are almost guaranteed. As for the next PS4 game, who knows.

It would be crazy to not show it. It's been a long time since Beyond, the project must be quite advanced, and Quantic Dream is based in Paris, it makes way too much sense to unveil their project at PGW (because I can't see it at PSX, and no way they're waiting E3 2016).

They should simply show Uncharted 4's multiplayer... I personally do not want to see a story trailer or another set piece, considering I don't want any more of it spoiled. We've already got two drop dead gorgeous gameplay videos to swoon over.

Speaking of UC4 multiplayer, I thought those that preordered The Nathan Drake Collection got access to the UC4 multiplayer beta? Why haven't we seen impressions?

The game is written by 3 people and directed by 2 vs. just Cage on his own for all the past games. Cage is one of the writers and directors of course. One of the writers has a literary background and exclusively worked in that field after he did his Master in Creative Writing. The other one has film experience and worked on a few Hollywood movies as well. The other director started out as a game producer and is now an indie movie director. Probably not doing writing for this game, but heading over their game design department is the cinematic lead designer of the Mass Effect franchise.

I don't think there will be anything big, PGW is way smaller event than Gamescon or E3 (at it was 2 years ago). I don't see the point to unveil some big games at this conference...

I think the quality and type of multiplayer experience they are going for will be easy to work out from just the music in the trailer. If they use a skrillex song for the reveal again, we are fucked

And the point is very simple.

SCE Europe have not yet the opportunity to show the world what the European division of Sony has been working on the past year and more, depending on what's revealed.

Tldr; Regional business activation and considerations.

Well GC is in Europe as well, and they have done some nice conference already.

Oh ok. Well I hope I'll be proved wrong.
I still can't imagine PGW being on the same level as GC since I went to PGW quite a few time now, and it never has anything big or very interesting.

This is my own personal view of all the Sony events, but I think it's misguided to equate the kind of press conferences done by Sony relative to the gaming events that they share a similar timeslot with.

The more accurate way to look at it, is that SCE, every year, has 6 conferences, that they choose to position close to game shows, not necessarily the other way round.

Tldr; I think treating this as a "PGW conference" is the wrong mindset. The better way to look at it is to think of it as a "SCEE conference" that got postponed.

Can't wait to see what Quantum has in the works.

I really hope they stick with the Dark Sorceror theme with their next game. Those effects in a fantasy type setting? Sign me up!

I think there are more games at Japan Expo :p

In terms of what Sony themselves is doing (the presentation) it will be similar to GC. Not the entire show itself.

Going forward (if I'm reading Shu's words right) PGW is Sony's new base for a European games convention.

Logistically (and cost wise) it makes more sense given all? their devs are in England, Netherlands and France.

Yeah but Sony didn't do a press conference at GC this year so you can't compare it to previous years.

I'm not sure that we can read it that way.

All Shu is telling us is that "Don't be concerned that our SCEE press conference will somehow be downgraded in announcements because we're choosing a smaller gaming show to coincide with our press conference as opposed to Gamescom."
