Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

An exclusive Street Fighter V is E3 levels megaton (shame it was leaked). Uncharted 4 gameplay debut is E3 level as well.
Add to that Final Fantasy VII remake, which is scheduled to release new info this holiday. Perfectly coincides with PSX.

I think Sony definitely wants to save some big announcements for PSX. It's their own event and they want to make it something special.

Why are those things "E3 level"? The last Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, & Battlefront were ALL revealed outside of E3.

E3 isn't as big as you think, the vast majority of big games are revealed outside of E3.

Hmm...

Possible cover car for GT7?

I'll be looking forward to next years conference during the gears 4 launch. They should move it. Stick to gamescom.

what are you talking about? Anyway you are the guy that said that Sony had no GC conference because they have nothing to show. And now that the PGW conference has been dated (it was announced before your stupid "nothing to show" comment) you have conveniently changed your theory to "nothing of significance".

I expect a very interesting event which will also mark the beginning of the holiday season for Sony :P
Being the same day of the Halo 5 release is a nice coincidence....or not :D

Yeah, I can see it.
New Chrono, Final Fantasy VI Remake, Quantic Dream, Gran Turismo 7, God of War 4, Parasite Eve 4, Shadow Hearts 4, Shin Megami Tensei 5, Devil May Cry 5 certainly give TLG, Shenmue 3, FF VIIr, Horizon and Uncharted 4 a run for their money.

Since this is apparently >e3, are we certain that Silent Hills is going to be reannounced with Toyama on board?

If so, I am hyping PGW!!!!!

Don't worry guys, I'm prepare to disappoint

But in all seriousness, aside from the usual games and the locks, I hope we get some updates on Project Setsuna, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Nier 2.

Hey, maybe they can throw in a short teaser for REmake 2 as well.

Revealed? Maybe. Showcased? On E3, most likely. Sony's best demos have mostly been on E3. You also seem to be comparing E3 with all other events combined.

E3 has the highest ceiling for big game announcements. Just look at this years E3. Hard to fathom anyone having a conference filled with as many big announcements on a Gamescom, TGS or PSX.

Besides, that wasn't the point of my post. The point was that Sony is most likely saving big announcements for their own event and that people shouldn't sleep on it.

I actually thought Sony would reveal a price drop at the PGW conference to counter Halo 5's launch but now I'm thinking that either they'll just give up on October entirely or their price drop is aimed at Nov/Oct. Or a price drop earlier entirely. Needless to say, I didn't expect this date and time for the conference.

It only makes sense for the PGW conference to take place near PGW though. It does make more sense to have the price drop at this time as it will maximize the profits prior to the price drop and then Sony will have the excitement of the price drop and bundles to carry sales through the holidays

Yeah, the PS4 also needs to drop in price leading up to the Morpheus launch early next year. So doing it in October prior to the holidays would be perfect.

It could just be timed this way because they're lacking a first party blockbuster title to counter Halo in general this holiday season.

But I think the plan might be to announce new titles and a price-cut to build groundswell hype going into the shopping season, then ride everything out on the CoD/SW bundles. Rather than just trying to sweep Halo 5's legs.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we get more details on some of the Star Wars stuff that was announced by EA and Sony at D23.

PS4 has a huge advantage vs XBO in hardware sales, it isn't like Halo 5 can cause a comeback.

It's the biggest gun MS has, but mostly for America, where shooters sell way better. Unlike MS, for PS Japan is an important market and PAL region is the biggest one in terms of sales. And well, they already launched the Halo MCC so some people interested to play Halo in XBO already bought it.

I just finally want to see what Quantic Dreams has for the PS4. If the Sorcerer demo was just a demo, I can't even imagine what the game would actually look like.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡ °)
I'd love it if this game is 3D. With Virtua Fighter being practically dead and only Tekken on the 3D scene, there is plenty of space for this to possibly flourish. Every other fighter is 2D as far as I can recall... They should just rename and rebrand it as a new one. Get SquareEnix, Snake and Activision's two IPs (Spyro, Crash) would be a nice start for this game though. The 3rd party support for the first game was cringeworthy.

If it actually plays like Smash Bros this time (Remove the Super system and add Stage outs) I'm all in.

Not even Shigeru Miyamoto could save Knack.
They need a more unified art style for a new royale the characters all looked off next to each other and better menus not the placeholder shit they rocked the first time.

A bigger budget in general. The UI was awful. The graphics and art style didn't show as much love for the IP's represented in the game, something the Smash Bros team excels at.
