This. It could be huge if it stayed a PlayStation exclusive.
To be fair; it's a Rockstar game so it would be huge either way. Being exclusive would have very little bearing on that.
I think Sanzaru wanted to create a Batman Arkham-like Sly game (which would've been freaking fantastic) but couldn't due to budget constraints.
A darker (not Jak II edgy darker) Sly game would be fantastic with gameplay like Batman's slow one-by-one takedown stealth system thing.
Ah man, that would be great. Set it in a mid-sized open Metroidvania environment, more focus on stealth or surprise attacks, a slightly more mature tone, a layered environment with lots of verticality and that could be
amazing.
What do you think we'll see from God of War this time around? A gameplay demo again or just a 3 minute story trailer of sorts showcasing bosses, level variety and story info?
Gameplay demo that looks more like traditional GOW. Lots of enemies and craziness, huge setpiece/boss fight. Quell some of the "walking sim" concerns
I agree with Heisey on this - they'll probably show more gameplay, and it will probably focus on scale and combat.
Yeah, TLOU2... That's a HUGE card to play imo. I mean, there are never any guarantees, but it sure seems to point to the notion that they have even bigger cards than that.
I think TLoU2 has the potential to be the biggest-selling exclusive this gen. The first game must have done near 10 million sales, and I can see this doing a good 20% more than that. It'll probably also be cross-gen as well, so it'll have a long sales tail on PS5.
I honestly think there's a good opening for slower tactical shooters at the moment. Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon have totally given that idea up and although Socom has always had a strong multiplayer element I think the demand for a high-quality campaign would be high as well.
So for the remainder of the year sony still has:
Wipeout omega
Patapon
Loco roco ps4
Uncharted LL
Gran Turismo
And potentially:
Hot shots golf
Knack 2 (holiday kids bundle)
Matterfall
Ni no kuni 2
On top of several 3rd party deals... seem pretty impressive and 2018 kicks off in similar fashion for them too
I really don't see Matterfall happening this year. They haven't even released Ex Machina yet, and we know pretty much nothing about Matterfall beside the original CGI trailer. I can't see it coming out in the next 8 months.
It does beg the question what their HW strategy will look like this fall.
In years past it was all but assumed that doing a CoD bundle in the holidays was a sure-thing, but last year Sony prioritized profits during the peak sales period and went with only a UC4 bundle.
Battlefront and Destiny were both bundles that have done very well for Sony. CoD remains an industry titan. RDR2 is long time coming, and has huge franchise growth potential.
It'll be curious to see what gets what; in terms of mainstream bundles, premium bundles or different approaches altogether.
First-party I can see them pushing Horizon and Uncharted 4 in bundles this Christmas. Third party I reckon it'll be Destiny 2 and Battlefront 2.
Ah that's a better way of putting it
Huh didn't know bethesda is planning to release something this year
I think it's fairly likely one or both of The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus will get revealed at E3 and come out this year.
