This plastic craptastic thing screams quality.. fuck i would actually prefer razer above this sheit

You tooty-fruity Bitch, that fucking headset is 100. It works perfectly with PS5 with no lag and automatically switch audio from TV Speaker. No hiccups and no delays and is comfortable and the audio quality is decent. It is quiet ugly.

you ain't motherfucking getting shit for 100 by Razor.

Come back with better post with some content to shit on SONY.

I mean while they aren't the top name in headphones. They are an established company and have been in the headphone game far longer than most companies. They leave a lot to be desired in certain aspects in tuning but their consumer grade is lauded by many.

Interested to see what they do when it comes to monitors.

I mean, they already sell electronics, there's also not a high margin on consoles. Not sure why you're so concerned. They make the most of their money on software and subscriptions.
Not so concerned cause I ain't a shareholder (might be projecting), just curious.

I get consoles and other other low margin products where you have control over the platform or the ability to sell related subscriptions. PC hardware isn't one of those.

They should start with their TVs. For the past decade LG and Samsung have put out TV-sets that are much more gamer-centric and that embrace new technologies/standards much faster than the comparatively more expensive Sony sets. Samsung and LG TVs have had VRR support since 2019 while Sony TV owners had to wait until late 2021 for an update that made it available on their new TVs.

Nah there are more comfortable headsets for $100. I have the new Pulse 3D and they're just not as comfortable as other options, but that's what I use on the PS5.

I use this one on my PC:
OIP.bLz38SGrIg0ESGfgTpPeiQHaHa

And this one on my Xbox:
OIP.ocxlDWsiUGCwQnBJ4WRUNQHaGk

The cloth on the Corsair and Turtle Beach is much more comfortable than the faux leather on the Pulse 3Ds.

It´s a high margin (but also highly competitive) industry aimed
Is it though? Hardware has always been a relatively low margin stuff. For example Corsair had 1.7b revue with 0.06b profit. Basically 5% margins and I think even the whole Sony has around 10% profitability due to their hardware divisions.

Sony of course is trying to chase Apple's margins there with their prices, but that's a separate matter though.

For that price? Not really.

The specs look comparable to this LG 27" that costs $989.

It's not a great margin industry, is it?
LOL surely you jest. There is a reason every company and celebrity under the sun makes 3 dozen pairs of headphones. Chi-Fi is a thing because western companies sell $5 drivers in $500 headphones. "Premium" gaming monitors are similar grift, where 27" panels with often terrible accuracy, specs, and QC are sold for the price of 55" or even 65" OLED TVs.

Nvidia only really makes GPUs and stuff like the Shield. A better comparison would probably be Razer.

Yeah and even then they are not the equivalent to Nike, but probably as close as you'll get in the gaming sector.

That's all they need, Sony can release every product under the sun and they will never be as profitable or iconic as Nvidia on PC. They can be the Reebok if they try hard enough.

Corsair Gross Margin - 23.8% Operating Margin- 4.1%
Logitech Gross Margin - 40.5% Operating Margin - 12.7%
Razor Gross Margin - 24.0% Operating Margin- ~6%

Not too high, these are for the last reported q's. Sony will have some savings

Back in the 2000s when HD TVs were selling and HDMI cables were a new thing, one of the brokers our company used to sell shit also represented all those high end monster cables that were like $150.

He said Future Shops’s cost price was about $15.

Given Sony make one of the best wireless headsets on the entire market I don't think it's crazy to think their Gamer Gear™ will be good. Just overpriced, because what Gamer Gear™ isn't?
What are you talking about?? By best wireless headsets you mean bluetooth headphones. Bluetooth Headphones are not headsets.

Build quality and mic quality will be typical gaming trash.

on a serious note, if you do have any top quality headset recommendations I am all ears. I want to go deep into audio now... just to see what the fuss is about.

No Audio system but a top quality headset

Not sure what that means.
Marvel do have the limited right to license to relatively small companies the right to sell low-end consumer electronics products designed for young children, subject to a number of protections for Sony including a right of first and last refusal and a requirement that the products not be branded.

I'm surprised they aren't doing anything to push Dualsense on PC, it would be cool if they brought native support in windows, if it would work on anything like a Xbox Controller, and without all the struggles and potential issues it has right now.

None of these companies have a substantial (or any) presence in premium headphones and monitors. They peddle PSUs, cases, mice, keyboards, controllers, chairs, and ultrabooks. >90% of their revenue is likely from their "budget" high volume lines with much thinner margins (e.g $20 mice, $60 cases/PSUs). Beats would be a better point of comparison, production costs on their $300-$600 models were reportedly between $10-$20.

Additionally, similar to Hollywood accounting, financial reports do not reflect actual product margins. A company could earn a 1000% return on every sprocket they sale and still report 5% cause they dump all the actual profits into "overhead"--compensation packages, luxury campuses/offices, luxury cars leases, perk packages, R&D black holes, etc..

You kidding me? Have you seen how much Mice and Keyboards go for? There's no way they're not getting a huge margin out of that shit. Corsair, SteelSeries, Logitech, and so on charge hundreds of dollars for hardware that essentially costs penny's to make.

Trying to circle the two between the high profit items of the individual items and the relatively low operating margins of the companies.

The thing about monitors is, everyone is just using the same few panels from the same few manufacturers and while the implementation does matter, it's still relatively limited in terms of things you can do to make a product worth a premium. In this case Sony might have gotten the first release with this panel (I think?) but it's unlikely it will be exclusive to them for long... there will be similar displays released with likely much lower price tags.

To add to that, the obvious elephant in the room is that you can buy an OLED TV for cheaper. LCD is becoming increasingly untenable as a premium technology unless, at the very least, it's FALD with a huge number of zones. I don't know who would spend £999 on an LCD but it ain't me.

Edit: also, I'd venture to guess that people who buy monitors are less swayed by branding than the kind of people who buy Nike trainers.

They are not overpriced for their specs just people looking to complain

27 inch 4k monitor seems dumb to me. The reviews are pretty good though. 32 inches or bust.

I used to think the same way until I got two 27" 4K monitors for work. The density of pixels on a 27" screen makes it incredibly crisp. These are not for gaming since they are just 60hz, but I can see how a 144hz screen with low response time would be appealing to competitive gamers. And expensive.

I run dual of those GP950s you linked and I love them

They are on sale atm on Best Buy for $699 if anyone wants a really nice gaming monitor that plays great with these new consoles

gamer branded accessories are genuinely some of the most awful products on the planet, cheap chinese plastic junk sold with RGB to get you to buy it because it's for 'gaymers'
this is why i use an office logitech mechanical keyboard and a basic logitech mouse for my mouse and keyboard, and why i plan on getting audiophile headphones for gaming. Only "gaymer" things you should buy is stuff from the actual gaming companies who've proven their worth, like in this case sony (and even then their deals seem dubious at best, like 520 for a fucking 1080p monitor is an actual joke)
Almost all gamer accessories are scams meant to fleece you out of your hard earned cash, get the good shit that's good regardless of if it's "gaymer" or not and you'll get a better experience

Those Corsairs are the most comfortable headphones I have used hands down.

I have an original Gold Wireless headset that still works fine. Only thing that wore out were the earmuffs and those were like $10 to replace. I'm sure there are better options but I've been super satisfied with this product for almost a decade.
