Sony removed 'Game Revenue Beyond Console' as a Strategically Emphasized Indicator for their Gaming Division in their new Corporate Report

I get that view, but why are GAAS day one games really any different?

If everyone knows GAAS games are day one on PC, then for any big GAAS gamers on PC they'll never bother buying a PS5 to play H2 if the PC port comes 2 years later. But if they are day one PC, then they'll remain on Steam.
If they only play GaaS games, but yes that is a risk too. GaaS are easier to tie to subscriptions though. Not easy, but easier.

Yeah, kinda nuts.

And has potential to take a lot of money as well. 400m for Concord.
Fairgames and Marathon coming up! 😉

And I agree, they hid the numbers because they didn't look good and management didn't want them on their performance reports.

PlayStation fans: Westerners are ruining Sony. We need a Japanese man back at the helm who cares about the company.

Totoki: We're going to release even more PC ports.

I'd be pissed if Sony had any games worth hoarding.

As it stands, I feel like Sony releasing their games on PC is much ado about nothing.

There have been 2 really standout Sony games this whole gen.

And to think they said this one month ago then did a complete 180 now is retarded

Imagine being Sony or Nintendo and looking at Xbox and saying. " Yeah I want to be like that "

Bring exclusives back, cut the overhead spending, and delay PC ports at least a year

The haters' dream is over.

They were delusional and stupid, thinking that it would be "day one PC," lunatics and idiots, thinking that Sony would lose a PlayStation sale with 100% of revenue to sell on Steam and only keep 70%?

Did they dream that Xbox support would increase? The trend is that not even GaaS will be released "day one" on Xbox, since the platform doesn't sell and Microsoft itself has already ended console production, leaving only inventory for sale.

Simple for those who don't understand:

The shift to "third party" will decrease, not increase as the haters fantasized.

Sony said the same thing midway through the PS4 generation.

I think it has something to do with selling the console at a subsidized price and then profiting from user activity within the platform?

Maybe now is the time to profit from the activity of users who have already purchased a PlayStation?

Why do we have to have "haters" references in any of this? It's just video games

It's simple; you just need to compare the PlayStation and PC threads.

In the PC threads, there aren't any "console gamers" blabbing, saying that PC GPUs will disappear because they'll only be for AI.

In the console threads, there's always some PC jerk bothering you.

Does anyone remember the now-banned PC lunatic who used to appear in every console thread claiming that Horizon Zero Dawn on PC would have better graphics than Forbidden West on PS5?
