SOCOM is a pretty good bet. ;) I remember reading that blurb awhile back but IIRC it was more like the next-gen SOCOM is what would be a departure, as in they're aiming to revamp things when they moved to the new hardware. I doubt we'll see anything on it for awhile though.

So what are they going to do? A Planetside style SOCOM? That would be pretty interesting and would pull me into the series.

man i cant wait to see more of redwood falls, all we got were like 2-3 screens and thats all that took to get me hyped. i remember reading about the regeneration that went on in the demo. hope we see more of it. from what I remember they didnt have a publisher when they first showed the game, hopefully somebody picked them up.

Phil Harrison keeps hinting towards another secret they can't show off, so I think there'll be one big megaton.

If it is a megaton I doubt it, but I'm sure it'll be a WTF moment

I want to see games like Lost Planet on PS3. Doesn't Sony has a franchise similar to it? It was a RE copy and was realsed early in PS2's life

Dude. The PSP was announced at E3. I still have the conference on a DV tape somewhere.

Basically, after all the PS2 chest thumping, Krazy Ken came out on stage and talked about a new member of the "family".

It was at the 2003 E3 SCEA press conference were the PSP was first announced, not a gamer's day.

And that concept was not shown at E3 2003.

snow effects were pretty awesome though!
I was impressed with how solid the environments looked, no PS1 texture warping or clipping. And PARTICLE EFFECTS!! they were cool.

Looking back at it now, the environments are so sterile. Fun while it lasted but I only played it once and never again.
If a decent team got it, its got the beginnings of a good franchise

Got me chief. :D That's probably a good bet though, some kind of persistent battle type of deal. I suppose it would be a logical extension of the changes they started making with 3. Personally I missed SOCOM I/II's more intimate, tactical approach with the smartly designed maps and 8 man teams. SOCOM 3's Battlefield aping kinda got away from what made the first two so good IMO, so I'm a little wary of where Zipper is gonna take their baby.

Wow that looks really nice. Looking at some articles it hasn't been shown in over a year and since then it didn't even have a publisher it probably went down the same pipe alot of other nice concept games go.

Was Kuju's Redwood Falls demonstrated as PS3 tech, or was it "platform agnostic"?

PS3 tech

During the Play UK 2006 video game seminar hosted by the United Kingdom Embassy in Tokyo, Kuju Entertainment creative director Tancred Dyke-Wells revealed that his company is working on Redwood Falls, a first-person shooter for the PlayStation 3.

Kuju showed off a tech demo of Redwood Falls during his presentation. According to a report by Famitsu.com, the gory sampling showed a man getting shot repeatedly by gunfire. The man's flesh would wear away, revealing bones and other innards behind open wounds. But the man didn't keel over and die after all the injected lead; instead, his body slowly healed until he was fully recovered.

There were always suprises at SONYs Gamers Day. The Mark of Kri, Rise to Honor, and so on.... so let`s see :)

Wagglewands, mudpile physics and excruciating stubble detail be damned, the Redwood Falls technology is probably the coolest next-gen shit I've read about so far. I have no idea how much of a technological achievement this is, but stuff like this could really add something to the horror genre.

I remeber that TM:B showing and how wowed I was when I actually made the ferris wheel roll through town.

I'm hoping they announce Dead Rising for the PS3. That game needs to be played by everyone.

I just got this in my email...
ps3partyoi7.jpg

man would I love to go there.

too bad the chances of that happening are slim to none. :/

funny thing is...thats not even the october 19th event, its a party on the 8th of november.
rolling thunder anyone?

It does have aesthetic similarities.

FREE PS3s? 10 of them??? Sony must be spending like elevendy billion on this!

*cut to scene of Ken personally soldering PS3s in his office*

Any chance the Heavenly Sword demo that was supposed to be at TGS, but was a no-show due to a bug, may show up at this event?

That'd make the most sense. They should have the bug worked out by then. At the least we should get a new trailer.

I'd put money on it that a new demo of HS will show up at this event, yes. :)

I don't see why they wouldn't have a new demo at the event.

Yup there is a post somewhere how they worked there balls off but couldn't quite nail it. But they said it would be a higly visable demo (and GAF assumed it would be pre installed on the HDD)
