1 hour to drive to Germany? Amazing. ;)

Naughty Dog studios is in Santa Monica? I guess that's too far away(I have no idea, I don't live in the states). In any case, only Luke knows if this is a dev studio they're going to or just a 'Sony studio' or something.

Germany? What?

Factor 5 is located in San Rafael.

They're now based in California I think.

I'm pretty sure they moved before they started work on Star Wars Rogue Squadron II for the Gamecube.

Not sure if they still have an office/team based in Germany. Perhaps we might see something of this other title Factor 5 are working on. I was suspicous of Lair at TGS (though the game looks great) being only 35% done when they seem to have been working on it for what seems like ages.

Maybe their second game could be further along to completion than lair? Or maybe I should have gone to bed an hour ago.... so, sleepy.

Their other game is on PSP, not PS3.

Really? This is the first I've heard of this. Interesting. Perhaps Sony is finally ready to start throwing some love (new IP's) the PSP's way.

I thought that Factor 5 had started had signed a three game deal for the PS3. Would like to see what Factor 5 could squeeze out of the PSP.

It's not FFVII that's being remade for the PS3...

It's Final Fantasy VI

Kitase might have unintentionally let the cat out of the bag around TGS '03, when he said it was the game in the series that his team actually had the most interest in remaking. :)

If that's true, I will offer any sacrifice to whatever god Kitase has a pact with.

anybody wanna venture a guess what developer is within 1 hr of driving from San Francisco? And what game might they be showing? I hope it's not Factor 5 and Lair. I've allready seen all I need to see about that game.
SCE Foster City Studio.

what do they do there?

There's some R&D IIRC.

Some QA

Mostly business offices, marketing, etc. Like PlayStation.com (for the US) is operated out of there.

Santa Monica CA, San Diego CA, Salt Lake City UT, Bend Oregon are the really major SCEA studios right now.

Foster City is where 989 was during the PSX and early PS2 days.

oh, right. that's why it sounded familiar. they moved them to Santa Monica, right?

Got this from PS3 Forums. Some user by the name of Elder had this to say:

I run a media site and when I was looking through Sony's official press site I stumbled onto an "Exclusive" page that I didn't have access to. However, on the left hand side of their site they list special events, one of which was Gamer's Day. While the main page isn't up and running yet, they did post future media pages for third party PS3 titles and first party e-distribution games. Here's the official listing.

Third Party Titles:

Blazing Angels
Call of Duty 3
College Hoops 2K7
F.E.A.R.
Fight Night Round 3
Full Auto 2
Madden '07
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Mobile Suit Gundam
NBA 2k7
NBA Live 07
Need For Speed: Carbon
NHL 2K7
Oblivion
Ridge Racer 7
Sonic The Hedgehog
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas
Tony Hawk's Project 8
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom
Virtua Fighter 5
Virtua Tennis 3

First Party e-Distribution Titles:

Blast Factor
flOw
Criminal Crackdown

The first party titles they listed were all the ones from TGS so it's clear they didn't update that section of their site just yet. Now sadly I can't post a link to the content because I have a unique username and password to access the site and that would be against the rules.

You can find the site here: http://presscenter.playstation.com/pages.aspx

The new games revealed should be Blast Factor and Criminal Crackdown. I'll post screenshots the second they get released.

Hopefully this information is new to you guys because this is my first topic since joining and I wanted to make sure it was a good one. I'll be sure to keep you all posted should any other information break.

90% chance that "Blast Factor" game is a David Jaffe production. :)

The official list of first party titles is as follows:

FORMULA ONE™ CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION (Working Title)
Genji: Days of the Blade™
Gran Turismo™ HD
Hot Shots Golf® 5
Heavenly Sword™
Lair™
MotorStorm™
NBA 07
Resistance: Fall of Man™
Warhawk™

Keep in mind that this list is the EXACT same one they had online for their TGS events page. Thus I seriously doubt they've updated. I'll keep checking their official press site every few hours to let you know if I see any changes.

At the very least I think it's pretty darn cool that they're taking their e-distribution seriously. Three titles is a lot more than I expected for right now. I can't wait until they load the official media.

On a side note, they posted several new hardware shots, or at least these new shots are posted on the hardware page. They prove that the PS3 will not come with an HDMI cable as they only show a composite cable, a power cord, an Ethernet cable and a USB cable. If you want to see the screens I'll upload them and post them for you.

PLEASE DON'T BE THIS STUPID SONY. IF MICROSOFT CAN SPRING FOR THE COMPONENT CABLES (ALBIET ONLY IN THE PREMIUM), SO CAN YOU!

eh either way. I'll import one if they dont do it.

Yah it'll be possible to import but it's going to cost more by doing that. So i'm hoping Sony just gives it another shot. F1 isn't really popular but this could catch on if they really pull off everything they want.

Doubtful because you think it's Criminal Crackdown or doubtful because you think it's a full blown title? All the clues point to this being Blast Factor. Not only going by the description but also by the fact that the development time will be less then a year. So I'm pretty confident that the Jaffe game is Blast Factor.

I guess we'll see, eh?

What is Blast Chamber
fun ps1/saturn game built for 4 players at a time. if they bring that back, color me excited, it would be great online.

that said, i doubt it is a sequel to blast chamber, i think activision still holds the rights to it.

Well either Blast Factor or Criminal Crackdown are David Jaffe productions. I figured it was Blast Factor since he said something about a Bomberman type game for his next project... or was it Twisted Metal on foot?

How can they do all this HD shit, even include HDMI and a next-gen media format, yet no component cables. That is ****ed up. Since the PS3 and PS2 look to have the same input, I'll go scour around for some tomorrow, what is the best brand to get?

Yeah Sony really did/are going to **** up with that choice. I think the choice is worst as far as press goes than real people being pissed off.

Sony really should add something like MS did with their premuim 360.

The premium PS3 is going to have included HDMI and Component cables, right?
hdmi cables probably not, no clue on component yet (atleast in the NA market). wait till thursday for a official announcement.

The people who will really get screwed on that composite cable deal if it holds, are the casual unsuspecting. Oh imagine the horror of "why do my games look like crap non HD?" Fix it now Sony.

I'm pretty sure Sony is going to ship jack-shit with bothe versions of the PS3. They lose enough money as is, and they seem to be in no hurry to turn one of their models into a 'retard' pack by adding or substracting value.

I read a New York Times article today all about the PS3. In it they said Sony will detail their online plans. So while i know we got a great idea how the PNP will work it will all be official tomorrow.
