Sony's Gamescom Media Briefing On "Release Plans for PlayStation 4"

I do not think Planetside 2 will be available at Launch. However, I would LOVE to see Sony preinstall at least 1 of these games. If they could have "FREE DC Universe Online and Blacklight Retribution Preinstalled on Every System" on the front of their box, that would appeal to a very wide range of people. Especially with a few screenshots of each game on the back of the box, could make for a very smart move if Sony does it.

Then you could have some of the DC Characters on the box or something, would be a great move.

wait. i just realized something. we haven't even seen/heard the Startup yet. i know there's the mockup video but that's just a mockup. i want to see the real thing.

I actually like the mockup a lot. It's the same startup as the Vita...black screen with a white PS logo in the center.

I'd love that with the PSone startup sound. Take me back to those days, Sony...take me back!

It better not have a fucking 5-second epilepsy/seizure warning screen when booting the console.

Pretty much.
Microsoft had the better games showing, but Sony won by default.
Now that MS has backtracked on DRM etc (aside from hardware pricing) it's now all about the games, which is why I put so much stress on Sony not getting complacent.
I can only hope they've pulled stuff from Gamescom because they're bringing enough to impress anyway.

as gamers we'd love to see sony go LOOK AT THESE TWENTY AWESOME GAMES

but for them as a business it makes no sense.

they won E3 by default because of MS screwups so they didnt have to show anything
They've pretty much already sold as many PS4s as they can make so they dont need any more incentive right now

for them that's great because they can show off a new game every couple of weeks and have a constant stream of news and hype

they might announce one or two things here, maybe more at TGS, something at VGAs, hell they might have already announced a PS4 yakuza game which is pretty cool, we just arent sure yet

it makes far more sense for them, they dont need to win list warz right now

I'm thinking they may shorten, or even drop a boot screen if immediacy is what they are targeting. I hope there will be a proper boot screen though.

I definitely would have liked to have seen more of The Order, so a little bummed out.

I kinda wanted to see gameplay, so we actually had a clue of what it was about.

Just checked it out looks great.

Would be more more excited if it was a full PS4 quality 3D space action game. It would seem more PS4 worthy also these type of games are super rare now.
I don't care if a game is 3D or 2D, offline or online, exclusive or multiplatform for me any game is worthy to be on PS4 if it is fun. That's why I want no segregation for games nextgen.

Edit: Some of my most anticipated games for nextgen is Transistor, Infamous: SS and Watch Dogs. (AC4 is looking good but I won't buy it day one after the mess AC3 was).

They don't need to drop or shorten it since there is a sleep function now with instant resume, like handhelds.

Free Knack in every console.

And preinstalled PlanetSide 2, Blacklight Retribution, DC Universe Online, and Warframe.

And DriveClub Plus Edition.

For only 399.

Speaking of Planetside 2, I hope we get to see the PS4 footage we were promised and never received from SOE Live.

Galak-Z is my most anticipated game for the PS4 by quite a wide margin.
