I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THIS NEWS.
-After the DS launch, a nearly simultaneously Revolution launch definitely seems plausible.
-We have no idea whatsoever regarding the progress of the Hollywood and Broadway chips, other than that they're design-complete and probably nearly completely fabbable now.
-We know Nintendo's second priority (behind having a clean launch) is having one that takes place before the PS3 craziness.
-They launched the GBA in June 2000, and that seemed to go pretty well.
If this is true, I'd be excited just because there'd be some spacing between the three consoles. Xbox this November, Rev in June, and PS3 next October/November. I don't believe for a second that the PS3 will leave the island of Japan anytime sooner than next October.
Still, this news came from Sp-0-ng, so if it's right, it's only because it's a guess. Because Sp-0-ng sucks.

And if this is true (big if), then Sony has no choice but to at least attempt a global launch. In theory they should be best placed logistically to handle one, but with two other hot platforms taking up capacity, it may be more difficult.

I wouldn't say Sony has no chance but to attempt a global launch. The fact that Europe waited like patient virgins before hopping on the PSP bandwagon (after the rest of the world was already out of new software) proves that Sony has a certain amount of capital in NA and EU to spend with fans. Also, the Japanese early adopters are much more willing to be gouged, at least traditionally in the case of Sony's consoles. Who knows, after the game industry has continued to recess here.

Guys just because no games have been shown doesn't mean there are no games. I'm willing to bet there are some that are pretty deep into development. Nintendo themselves said they are holding back on showing the games for a reason (there are more surprises to be had). Who know's, maybe we'll get some decent info before the years end. My bet is around the 360 launch to take some of the limelight away from microsoft.

Could someone explain to me why releasing the Rev at the same time as PS3 would be a bad thing? What would be the best launch date for the rev to maximize early adopter sales? How does June benefit Nintendo in the context of not "competing?"

-Gamecube has no big game coming in 2006 except for Zelda. That game alone won be enough keep the GC alive for 12 more months.
- Well since the GC is about dead, why would Nintendo want it to sell poorly for another 12 months? Roll out next-gen faster.
- If they roll out Zelda in early may, then it could sell for both GC and Revolution.
That said, I choose NOT to believe s pong but a june launch would be fantastic!

Worked for the GBC/GBA shift. Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, Pokemon Crystal and Dragon Warrior III all got a nice bump from new GBA owners looking for something "deeper" to play.SantaCruZer said:
