There's a chorus? Who knew.

Personally speaking, You Know My Name is my favorite Bond theme by a country mile and blows all those other themes out the water. It's just a matter of personal taste. I really liked what Bobby said earlier about Bond themes and how your estimation of a new Bond theme can be improved upon hearing it in the context of an opening title though. For me, the sheer thrill and visual creativity of Casino Royale's opening title sequence has been yet to have been beat As indeed has the actual film itself.

I loved Casino Royale, for a "reboot" they hit it out of the park as they say. You know my name was a fantastic song coupled with what I consider to be one of the best bond opening title sequences, followed by one of the best films of the series.
The playing card motif, the silhouette people, and their bodies turning into suits upon being hit or death just worked so well together. Quite the departure from the female silhouette's we've grown accustomed to over so many Bond title sequences.
No, but there is a supposed 4th movie curse for each actor.
Connery - Thunderball
Moore - Moonraker
Brosnan - Die Another Day
Craig - SPECTRE?
Thunderball wasn't horrible, but it's one of Connery's weakest films. Moonraker and Die Another Day are both considered to be some of the worst Bond films.
And after SPECTRE producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said Sam Smith's song would "surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time". I have some doubts about their judgement for SPECTRE. But hopefully the movie is a lot better than this shit song.

suli has just pm'd me. he said that avatar has a much more memorable theme.
I think I like it less than Another Way To Die.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree.
I know a lot of people are giving this song a lot of flack, but I really like it. I threw in some Skyfall esque drums and a stratocaster to give it more of a secret agent/snake eater vibe so I could run to it. I hope you guys like it.

Seriously, if Spectre manages to give us something on this level...I'll be satisfied.
It's gonna be a lot of bulletholes, skulls, and octopi.

You might be interested in this article, it's about the evolution of the bond titles over the 23 films. Gives great insight into why the Casino Royale titles were so starkly different and how they thematically related to a younger Bond not yet the womaniser we've grown accustomed to.

The sad part is I'm going to have to listen to this crap in the theater
I'm sure it will takes years off your life.
what the fuck is wrong with you! All Time High is great
Unless the reviews are surprisingly raving, the song was the clincher in me deciding to skip it in the cinema. The sad part is I'm going to have to listen to this crap in the theater

Nice job. I'd suggest adding the bass line to the OHMSS theme under the falsetto part.
oik
i love this song
I thought people were exaggerating, but it really is bland and uninteresting. I think the decision to have a quiet chorus ruined the song as a Bond theme.
Still better Bond song released this year is Siouxsie Sioux's "Love Crime" from Hannibal. Can't wait for the full version of this one.
This thread made me re-listen to past Bond themes and I realized how underrated Sheryl Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies is.
It looks set to become the first ever bond theme to chart at number one in the UK singles charts: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34380060
