I think swinging from webs when I think Spiderman, but this looks like a third person shooter/melee game. Are there web-slinging sections too?

Huh, forgot this was coming out so soon.

I really enjoyed Shattered Dimensions, so I'll pick this up eventually. But I have to say, it looks kinda underwhelming to me. Not really surprising though since is a sequel from Activision with only a 1-year development period. Maybe some good impressions will sway me to pick it up sooner.

Going by their last release, probably not much if any.

Shattered Dimensions was good. Just finished it last week.

My body isn't ready yet for more of the same, so I'll wait a few months. I just hope the game doesn't go OOS everywhere in UK, like the first game. I had to buy a german copy on Amazon.de.

Hopefully there are some good deals on this... Kmart is giving a $20 gaming coupon for this if your a Shop Your Way Rewards member.

Woah, what? Since when do we have a new spiderman game coming to us?

And we need another open world spiderman :(

This looks , based on the gamescom footage uniquely garbage.

This and xmen destiny aren't even movie tie in games so why are they being so rushed? Even shattered dimensions at least looked like they tried.

That said, outside a handful of breakout titles, every mainstream marvel game not made by capcom has been mediocre at best.

I know it's pretty divisive but I think Web of Shadows really isn't as bad a people make it out to be and is at least a decent successor to 2.

Check out the web swinging footage at the very least:

Forgot that this was coming out. I can't see this game doing well because they've done literally no advertising whatsoever. I like Shattered Dimensions, so I'll probably pick this up one of these days.

My first OT ever. Hope it's okay...
It's a heck of a lot better than what I would've done lol.

Gonna wait and get the EU version when it's out, hope I get something for keeping saved data of SD.
lol @ them not being able to afford NPH for Amazing Spidey.

Huh, I didn't know this Spider-Man game was coming out already. Strange as I'm a fan of Shattered Dimensions and believed I was paying attention to the release calendar.

Oh well, more Spider-Man (not Spiderman, Spiderman is a rubbish villain from Whiz Comics) is always good. Anyone know if it's just like last time; Is the Wii version the same as the PS3/360 version?

I believe we were told some costumes would be unlocked.

According to Nintendo Power, yes, the Wii and 3DS versions are the same as the 360/PS3 versions.

Like Shattered Dimenisons, this probably won't be a great video game, but it should be a fun, Spidey-themed brawler. One of these days though, we're gonna get that open world Spider-Man game that incorporates Peter Parker as a central character, like all the great Spider-Man stories, and then we'll have our Arkham Asylum for our favorite webhead.

Hopefully costumes gave you a 'bonus' ability (that doesn't affect trophies)
Now I gotta try and Platinum, or get as many trophies as I can, in SD lol
My 6/7 year old nephew was the one to beat the game but he did it on Easy, he loves playing SD whenever he visits us

Really? I might actually pick up the 3DS version, then. I was really impressed with the fact that aside from the obvious graphics downgrade, SD Wii was pretty much the same as the HD counterparts.

Outside of the combat, it was inferior in nearly every way to Spider-man 3, which was inferior to Spider-Man 2.

If were really picking at straws, Spider-Man 2's campaign was inferior to Neversoft's Spider-Man 1 game.

I was just looking at this game the other day, and I think it is worth adding to the OP that the 3DS Version is almost identical to PS3/360 version(no, not graphically)

I liked SD but mainly for the Noir levels. My least favorite parts were the 2099 areas too :(. Not going near this one unfortunately.

I wasn't even aware Shattered Dimensions had been released.

Added that.

Also added a link to the first 30 mins of the Wii version.

Playing Shattered Dimensions now.

A lot of what causes this game to feel amateur are the loose-feeling controls and the strange cutscene direction.

Hmmm... I enjoyed the Wii version last year. A solid port. I'll wait this year, and get the 3DS version on the cheap if it's any good. Got Shattered Dimensions for like 20 quid last year.

I do believe the 3DS version is a port of the Wii version.

As someone who enjoyed Spider-Man SD immensely, I want to get this? However, after the disappointment that X-Men was I'm feeling hesitant. Granted, I'd only be spending $30 on it on Tuesday, but I really wish we had some reviews for it already.

Same here. I've always enjoyed the Spider-man games...even the ones that weren't that great, but I'm not sure they could improve greatly on Shattered Dimensions after just a year of development time. I really hope I'm proven wrong.

I'll end up waiting for this. With games like Rage, Uncharted 3, Batman AC and the like, I can't justify paying full price for this game.

Shatter Dimensions was solid as heck, but yeah, 1-year dev time means this is going to be poop.

This. Beenox came very close to gold with SD. It was really fun and a great Spidey game. It just needed more polish/time and it could have been AAA. Instead of working on the issues, taking their time, and knocking the next one out of the park, they crap out a half-assed sequel in a year. Really sad. All the blame goes on Activision for this one. Killing another potentially good franchise.

Sadly enough, it will probably sell just enough to justify this route. If they took their time (or were allowed to), they could have an AAA title, instead.

So I've had this for 2 days now(If you live in Saudi and want this go to Eagle over at Dossary Towers), and its pretty fun. I bought it for my little brother who loved the previous one which I still haven't tried.
