Splatoon Direct - 7th May 2015

5 hours to go.

The sniper rifle looks so good in this game.

So this direct will heavily influence my purchasing decision of the game. The core gameplay seems fun, but I'm not fully convinced of the complete package yet. It's a little edge Nintendo has to push me over now.

It's like the Wonderful 101 direct, where I was interested in the game before, but very hyped after the direct. Maybe this will do the same for Splatoon (hopefully with a little demo after the presentation).

Exactly. Now if the game had 2 player online, it would be an easy purchase but as of right now I;m still on the fence.

I'm kinda pissed that it's happening today at seven. Push it to tomorrow at the same time and I can watch it live.

Oh well, I'll have to make do with reading the thread on my phone.

don't know why (I follow the game updates, I played and liked it, I've preordered it for the Squid amiibo bundle) but I'm not hyped for the Direct

As a longtime nintendo fan/collector, I'm getting this game day 1(with the amiibos) but I really doubt that this game will be succesful :-(

I hope that this direct will generate more hype for it but no one except for a small group of nintendo fans will even bother watching it...

So, I have the Direct page opened, but I don't see any play button like usual to start the feed. Are they doing it later or am I missing it?

If they announce a demo all I'll be doing until Splatoon release is play the demo. You guys have me all excited now. I hope my dreams aren't shattered.

What he's trying to say is that the ink fires in an obvious parabolic trajectory, as opposed to your typical FPS hitscan gun or whatever. Why that cancels out pointer controls, I have no idea.

Looks like straight trajectory here.

Anyway, I get what you're saying. It's just very disappointing that this game has no Wii-mote support for local co-op.

I have some buddies who are very casual gamers, having never played a "shooter" and this would have been the perfect gateway for them. I never thought I'd see the day where Nintendo would develop a multiplayer game with such poor local multiplayer features and weak controller support.

I guess they are trying to keep the playing field level. If a player were to run into someone using the wiimote at a decent skill level, they would be in deep shit. Assuming those attributes matter in this game.

COD was terrible for this. I used to get called the worst things in the world for using wiimote.
