Splatoon OT 2: The Best Dreamcast Game That Never Was
This gets my vote.

The Dreamcast got an orgy of unmissable games only few gamers bought, for whatever
PS2 hype
reason.

I hope Splatoon will be a Dreamcast game that gets played massively.

The A- wall is real. But this time it isn't really anyone's fault other than the game. Weapon variety is what usually wins the matches and boy does it like to not give weapon variety.
port in ranked again

I'm gonna give it another go since the matches this morning were fun.

I believe it's on the right side of the user's post.

I remember I reported one picture someone had posted yesterday.

He inked an swastika on the ground of the practice level and shared the picture in miiverse

Quite facepalmic
Thanks. And damn. Some people are so dense.
Don't they only hate each other because it was a forced land dispute? They might be able to figure something out eventually.
Not sure, was this revealed in the scrolls? I am yet to get all of them. But that is good news to me! (I know I am probably setting myself up to disappointments).

Can someone explain to me why the Ninja Suid ability is so good, and what weapons it tends to benefit? I tried utilizing it and it doesn't really work out for me, and I've had no problems flushing out anyone wearing it.

Post possible fresh scenarios and strats if you can.

It's great to ambush people during shoot-outs. Yesterday I was battling with a charger that guarded the gate to the upper area of Saltspray Rig, both of us at opposite sides of the gate. After a few shot exchanges, he kept his laser ready waiting for me to pop up my head, so I just ninja squidded underneath it, popped up next to him and killed him with my blaster. Had he actually shot his ink in that passageway instead of waiting for me to show up I couldn't have snuk up to him lol.

Oh my god you're me.

Seriously I play mind games constantly, all the time. Get in their base to freak them out and make them waste time repainting it instead of moving to the front lines. Pop out of a hallway near their base and say "hi," hoping they will chase you back there where you can kill them with a strategic bomb.

I'm horrible at combat, that's why I use the jr. with its bubbler. But I'm awesome at paint coverage and mind games, and I'm getting pretty good at fancy footwork.

Everyone is so intent on killing other players when they encounter them that they just don't know what to do when the other player just starts dodging all over the place. Some of the best times I've had have been bouncing around like an asshole rabbit, seeing that enemy ink on my trail, painting and dashing as fast as I can just wasting their time by running in circles.

This sooo much this!

This game is all about wasting the other team's time.

I start most matches by blazing a trail to the front line. I do this because nine out of 10 times, my teammates do the opposite and start painting our territory. If I can meet the enemies at the middle of the map (or ideally, while they're still at their end), and if I can spray at least a bit of paint and maybe throw a desperation grenade, it'll waste juuuuuust enough of their time that either 1) my teammates will have caught up and continue to distract them, and/or 2) my teammates will have painted in a good portion of the map behind me.

This is more or less my priority on every map except Saltspray Rig and Blackbelly Skatepark, where the objective instead becomes taking the high ground and muddying the ground near the enemy's side of the tower.

Arowana Mall is also interesting. You have the middle halfpipe with the two scaffoldings on either side. If you can take one of those scaffoldings and avoid snipers from the opposite and adjacent platforms, you can keep the halfpipe in your team's colors and repeatedly plant bombs in the blind spot on the other side of the enemy's ramp.

None of this is failproof, of course. I've still lost many matches doing this. But these seem to be good priorities during the first half of a match.

When it comes to the second half... I sometimes have success trying to push as far into enemy territory as possible, but I'm starting to think it's better to backup your teammates in the middle and push as a front toward the enemy.

We're like brothers in here. I love playing like this too in compliment to my support roles (I really love being a jack of all trades in games), but I need to get better about bunny hopping and circle strafing with Squid Mode.

I've had a lot of work the past few days, not much time for Splatoon. ;v;

So are GAF lobbies still strong after ranked release?

Anyone else hoping that they increase the level cap, and bring more gear?

For example there would be an update that makes it so you can get to level 40, and they add 20 new weapons for each additional level up

I fully expect Octolings to be playable in Splatoon 2. They team up with the Inklings to take on a new threat.

Got the game a couple days ago and reached level 5 yesterday night. I'm absolutely loving it, this is probably the first game where I'm completely disregarding the single player portion though I imagine I'll get through it soon enough because it seems like there's some good stuff to unlock in there. The multiplayer is so addicting though! I added my name into the spreadsheet, feel free to add me. I'll be adding a bunch of folks once I get to my Wii U later tonight.

I'd definitely recommend chopping away at the single player for the weapons you'll get from beating bosses

and because it's pretty fucking awesome

That is cool, but Sugimori... Pokémon creator? Also I like that he has Shauna as his avatar on twitter. She is adorable.

He's not the creator, iirc. Just their primary artist.

Truee he was not exactly the creator but he designed the original 150 Pokemon come on! changing it anyway :D

"Even if my/your blood is entirely ink!" or something like that, I can't read the character after "subete" for shit.

Thanks for the translation! Looks raaaad af.

Who's up for a GAF lobby? I have about a hour to play, and I was going to jump into ranked but The mall is in rotation.

Let's get some GAF turf wars going!

Nah, I'd rather they do what they're doing, and just drop them all in line with where they were, like the zapper. I want them to respect my time, not try and hog it. I shouldn't need to grind for a weapon that will just be a different play style and not at all superior. And carrot on a stick bar filling is boring design, so I hope they stick to what we got.

I'd rather them just add gear. No point in grinding levels rather than just money.

I love doing this as well, serving as the distraction my team needs to get the job done. I love the mind games, I love the different strategy options. I've gotten pretty darn good and beelining as far in as I can get and then holding the other team off.

This is part of why I dislike Ranked mode, because it feels more like a kill fest without all the fun mind games of Turf Wars.

But we need it for the current bar-filling generation.

Jk.

But the reason I want it is because it'll get people back into the game. I'm not saying this should happen anytime soon. I was thinking maybe this fall

I'd like them to add some sort of prestige level system, which does nothing for you but is just another number you can keep leveling up as you go, just illustrating how much time you've put into the game really.

Maybe every prestige level could earn you a Super Sea Snail?
