Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I like the new weapon, it feels very powerful and fast up close. Which is what I like. However the secondary weapons take some getting used to, I'm too used to the Aerospray RG with inkstrike lol. But this is a weapon I enjoy playing with nonetheless.

Just started it up for the first time, since buying it near launch. The introduction were super fun, and I think I can get used to the motion control with time. Now I'm in the Plaza, and can't wait to complete the singleplayer campaign before heading online.

After playing Splatoon for 4 days straight for hours and hours and even skipping lot's of adult responsabilities to play it, I can conclude that I've been enjoying Splatoon more than MK8 or Smash U on the same lapse of time and trust me guize, I LOVE MK and Smash Bros games very much. It's just that Splatoon IT'S. SO. ADDICTIVE. AND. FUN!! And I haven't even touched the single player campaign yet! I just want to personally thank everyone involved on making this freaking game and invite them a beer hahah.

Splash-o-matic OP confirmed.

Splatfest, some issue I've seen besides connection/server error.

The team with less players(Bread) may have problem finding teammates, but after you joined a good team things will be fine.

The team with more players(Rice) may have problem finding opponent team, your "good team" will break up because of time out.

And I changed team every time I saw a player under LV10 in my team. :|

So choose wisely?

That was inevitable for a "vote" based roster. One side, except in some perfect scenario, would always end up with more players than the other.

Please tell me turning off motion controls is still completely viable with ranked and getting a good rank. I've tried the motion controls and it requires too much from me with the way I'll move around and adjust my arms, etc. Have to constantly readjust the camera and it's just off to me. I prefer holding the gamepad in my lap and resting it there most of the time.

Do I really need to figure this out or will I still be competitive in the higher ranks using dual analog? Only 6 right now but doing a good bit of the single player as well.

How's the new weapon? I didn't get a chance to play last night.
I haven't played more than the first world-and-a-half of single player, because I've been almost addicted to multiplayer. So, I don't have access to the Aerospray Machine Gun thing. I guess this is similar to that, with suction bombs and bomb rush. I really dig it, but I am very heavily in favor of high rate-of-fire ink-sprayers lol

New weapon is so good. Got over 1500 points on kale dome earlier.

I say really try to adjust to them. I was strictly pro sticks and immediately turned off the motion controls.

My friend encouraged me to try them and now I love them. They work surprisingly well. You don't have to move the controller much and I usually play with the gamepad in my lap.

It's doable without motion controls since I've made it to A without using them, but you'll have to accept that when people are bunny hopping around in 1-on-1s you'll lose the majority of the time.

Just aim right at the median jump point. They're movement speed, and I believe fire rate, are slowed significantly when jumping. Man your ground.

Of course, that how chargers operate. I could be wrong for rapids.

Alright I'll give it some more time. I'm assuming the last part of what you said RiggyRob is due to not being able to look around and jump simultaneously with dual analog?

How do I join the GAF game?

My Nin ID is Las7man

Add a bunch of people from the NNID Spreadsheet and join off of them.

I suggest messing around with them through Single Player. That way you can hide in the ink to line up shots and get used to the gyro controls and not have to worry about being constantly shot at.

Yep - someone in the thread already wished they could grow a second thumb to jump and move the camera around at the same time. To get around it, you'll either have to aim at the midpoint like mentioned before or just play smarter/sneakier.

I don't think you have to learn motion controls I maxed out my rank using the analog controls, but motion controls I feel definitely give you better aim I just, like you, feel more comfortable using analog controls especially since I have played my fair amount of shooters

Yeah one of the reasons I actually looked into the motion controls initially was because during the single player, I was finding the Y axis acceleration was way off. I'd hide, target my enemy, pop out of the ink and then for whatever reason the target would move, I'd try to readjust and then I'm just all over the place. I did find the motion controls helped a good bit with this so I can see the advantages. It's just taking time to adjust to being able to actively move the gamepad on a constant basis.

Oh and are you guys still using the R stick to pan left/right or do you do that all with the gamepad gyro along with up/down?

I have the exact same feeling! Think I've played about 60-70 hours of multiplayer so far, and it's still fun!

had a match in ranked where the other team got their timer down to 2 and ours was around 45. took control and held the zones to force the knockout. good shit.

also the splat-o-matic is amazing. the game's performance itself bows down to its dominance.

I'm seeing things I hadn't since the latter acts of The Wonderful 101 whenever there are more than 2 people on the screen with Suction Bomb Rush.
