Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Jsut got this game, my Wifi was down so couldn't play online, hit up the single player mode, was a lot more fun that I assumed it would be.. controls take a little while to get used to.. So far so good.

does the Single player get more intense as it goes on ? or is it repetitive ? I kinda assume it is an extended tutorial for the online or is it a legit mode in it's own right?

The single player escalates nicely. I found some levels pretty challenging by the 2nd set.

It does get more intense, and with new ideas introduced. And with a fantastic Final Boss...

I wouldn't much of the single player intense; the difficulty slowly rises at a steady pace for most of it and then spikes upward for the final boss

This is amazing:

looooooooool

Just a heads up if you guys join my matches and I seem to struggle it's cause I have a newborn that came home yesterday in my lap lol.

Congrats, my man! :D

Ok, so there's some WiiU server issue about an hour ago according to Nintendo, no wonder I can't see any Miiverse drawings in my Plaza.

Yeah, Wii U Server have been acting weird yesterday, I never had any communication error that much until yesterday, and same for my friends.

Just got done playing a few matches with a longtime NicoNico friend; loved how he kept reiterating how much fun he was having even though he was already lv 19.

Excited for the new map, but man oh man am I aching for Camp Daggerfish.
I really like the look of it, aesthetically. It's nice to have a nature-themed map
Kelp Dome was probably the least interesting of the unreleased singleplayer maps for me, but that might change in multiplayer. The other water map is pretty neat because of the vertical layout and the Splat Fest skyscraper map is just crazy

Suddenly, I can't kill anything or survive in the game. Everyone is using the large impact jump technique, and I can't hit anything.

I blame Heng!

Finally got into Ranked. it's is awesome! Such a change up over regular play.

Also, been giving thought to an Inkling girl tattoo, what would be a good one?

Holy hell, just had a ranked battle where my team won almost literally at the last second.

The whole battle was a slugfest; each team was taking the point on Arowana Mall. The enemy team had control for most of game's duration, but we managed to wrest control from them. Right as the clock was counting down to two seconds, my team took the lead.

I might as well quit now, I don't think I'll get a victory quite as close as that.

So wait, there's no ranked version of turf war? That seems like the most interesting mode to me. A friend of mine played over the weekend and was really turned off by the fact that the only ranked was for king of the hill which, you know, has been kinda done to death at this point. Turf war looks like it should be the featured game type here.

Correct, though it looks like they'll be rotating modes for ranked soon.

Yesterday, I had a match where I was doing REALLY good, but my team was doing REALLY bad. It was in the underpass map. Anyways, I was using the ink brush, at first I though I had a good team because we were able to cover our entire base area in our ink real fast, but then, in the last min or so I noticed on the map that the enemy was CRUSHING us! This surprised me because I was doing good, I had 7 kills, 1 death and over 1000 points. We lost the match, but at the end of it I had 1200 points, and the person in second in my team had barely 400 points. The weird thing is that the person who was in first on the enemies team had almost 300 points less than me. This is the first time I have seen that happen.

I have had games like that. It is so exhausting. I was mentally broken after that. Had to take a break.

noidea how Japanese players constantly jump and shot, tried it and feels like hands are too big, years of playing mh on cramped psp and 3ds maybe? :p

edit high level ranked

Heng and his damn blaster were destroying me in the few games I played with gaf yesterday. The Blaster weapons are so rare when I play with randoms so I have no idea how to handle it

Don't get close

The few games I played with blaster in randoms I wrecked too, its inking is shit but killing is just so easy if you maneuver well

I only like low rate of fire weapons in this game. Chargers and blasters only for me, apparently. Those OHKOs feel so good.

Brush is fun but I can't realistically press the trigger that often, I swear that that broke my Wii U pad lol. No Splatoon for me for a bit, sux

Holy cow. I just had the most intense ranked battle ever. Both teams ended up with a 1 second counter (excluding penalties) and went to overtime. That clutch victory...so rewarding...

The .96 gallon seems crazy good in close quarters. Even if you get the jump on someone they can turn and take you out in one hit. It's practically a hard counter for aerosprays.

And brush assassins. :(

The range that they have makes retreats a total coin toss on top of the whole "two hits and your dead". They also come with Sprinklers to run the same kind of lock down a brush user would attempt (coat area in opposing team's ink; take advantage of their lowered mobility) and the always friendly Echolocator to make that escape even more of a pain.
