Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I logged in yesterday as a level 6. I lost 12 games in a row. I lost every single 1v1 encounter. The next lowest level person on my team during 12 consecutive rotating games was lvl 14.

This game is not kind on lowbies, that's for certain.

When that happen, exit to the lobby and try again.

Tried the nozzlenose for one game. I can already tell it sucks. It might have some decent kill potential for really advanced players but even then it's bad at inking.

Splatoon has become really really hardcore. Seen some really godly snipers, and ninja rollers in Bluefin Depot.

The overall skill level has definitely increased. I don't think it's a coincidence that there's usually multiple level 20s in every room I join.

what's w/ all the Arowana Mall hate in this thread?

great splat zone map

Try playing Arowana with multiple good snipers on the other team. You'll never move past the center of the map, guaranteed. Unless of course if you have equally skilled snipers on your team.

Kelp dome?

By design it gives everyone score inflation

I don't like Kelp Dome. Too big. It's okay at best.

Oh cool a new map. Any good?

After spending a decent amount of time on it I like it. I think it's the best post-launch map yet cause split center mechanic requires a lot of teamwork and the bases have a lot of room to move around yet also a lot of spaces to hide in. Also, despite being possibly the most vertical map yet, it doesn't really favor long range users in my experience.

Yeah it reminds me a lot of Saltspray Rig in that because there's a lot of open area you'd think ranged weapons would be effective, in reality there are a ton of corridors and blind spots that favor close range weapons in shootouts

I think Splatoon is a game of time, making your enemy waste time, to be more precise.
The more time they spend focused on a single place, repainting places, trying to kill you, when you kill them and make them lose time by respawning, the better. The concept is so good, it makes me wonder how they came up with all this, all this ways of making your enemy lose time, even on basic things like slowing down when on enemy ink.

Man, Bluefin is the land of the snipers. Time to dust of the splatcharger.

E-liter, my friend. Splatchargers have to jump down to the middle, E-liters can just snipe from the balcony all game long. You can solo the right side of the map and switch to the other side if there isn't anything to do for the moment

Goddamn why were there three dudes in MY base?

I love getting to the opposite side of Bluefin Depot, getting up to the top level and holding people off at the spawn point for like 30 seconds before getting splatted, then looking down and seeing the rest of your team has let the enemy ink most of the map

I think that was my first time in a complete room of GAFers, very fun :P

Also I wish there was a way to view/highlight the map on the bottom screen after a match, a few of those games I felt there were some pretty big shifts in power and it would be cool to watch again in fast forward.

THAT LAST MATCH ON BLACKBELLY WAS SO REAL THE WHOLE TEAM HAD TO COME 4v1 ME IN THIS ONE. :LOL

I don't think I'll ever get 3 Run Speed Up on Blue Moto Boots. Been trying to max out sub-abilities for a while now.

Yea, that would be really cool.

You bastard, I'll kraken you to death later :)
I wonder how annoying a team full of Chargers would be on Bluefin...

The life of a brusher. Go undetected for what feels like hours. Miss the third swing on a kill then get counter two shot from an Xbox huge distance away.

Man that's the best, I feel like I'm holding the whole team off and when I finally die I look down at my game pad in smug satisfaction to realize that my team of level 20's forgot how to play
