Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I don't use gyro, then again I mostly use the roller so I'm nor sure how much of a use it'd be
Quite a lot, your main way of killing will be shotgunning, and you will need the gyro to aim up and down.
Plus when you will need to paint walls to climb, like in bluefin.

You don't need gyro to jump and aim I do it all the time when I play with the splattershot jr., can't really do it when I use the dual squelchers because I feel that gun reticle moves really slow for that weapon. Maybe it's just because I play halo that I'm used to jumping and analog controls together, but it's definitely possible

welcome to A-

now you're forever stuck in A- ( me too)

Hahaha I trust you Violet! Got into A-30 then lost a fair match so i am A-20. I just gave up for tonight as the rhum affect my skill badly. raping some turf war without stress tho haha. 18 wins streak, time to go to sleep!

I think the idea is that it's easier since you don't have to switch from jump button to stick and back as often.

I think it's just easier if you don't know how to do it, just going by my experience from playing other shooters and there are some pretty elite halo players that can do any jumping and aiming just as good if not better than people using any type of gyro controls. Also in ranked splatoon matches I feel jump and aim well enough to hold my ground.

Can you jump and aim simultaneously in Halo? If so, what fingers do you use?

We've heard multiple times that the y-axis analog controls are busted (due to low sensitivity). Does that affect your y-axis? It's really important for roller flicking.

You tap the jump button with your thumb, and you aim with your thumb it not that hard to do, I get that it's not "simultaneous" but it's pretty close to it, and my argument is that it's possible to do it if you know how to and have quick enough reflexes if you don't I'm sorry.

I skipped single-player and went straight for multiplayer. Isn't this addictive or what? I'm loving this game, do the maps rotate every day or every week? How do I access singleplayer story?

I've only used the krakon roller, not much Dynamo so I couldn't say for that, but no for me at least I don't notice anything wrong, I think I've just adjusted to it and so my flicking has as well. I'm probably not the best to ask though you know I only play roller every once in a while.

Maps rotate every 4 hours and the single player accessed by going down into the sewer where that old guy is poking his head out.

Oh man just had my first win by coming back in overtime, that was intense. What does the team with more points have to do to win in overtime, just take control of the zone? I'm amazed they didn't do that because there were like three of them shooting into it with only me fending them off for a while. Right when I ran out of ink and thought for sure they had it the rest of my team showed up and blitzed them

I'm guessing by team that's got more points you mean the team that has less time left so yeah they need to take control or keep the other team out of control for a certain amount of time.

Yeah that's what I mean. We were behind and once we took the lead in amount of time left the match ended.

Yeah the team that forced overtime just needs to pass them by one second, I personally like the system it makes for some fun or frustrating matches

The chargers don't feel aggressive enough for me. I feel like I need to stay back when using them. I think I'll do a few more games with them and maybe it'll click.

Get some damage up on them or use Squiffers. Use the bombs/sprinklers they come with, especially if you're not a campy Charger.

Callie: There used to be a train station here. But now there's not.
Marie: Cool story.

That made me laugh way harder than it should've.

The one about Judd's secret parties is great too. :lol

In other news, I'm wondering if I should bump the Post Your Inkling thread again with my current threads:

I honest to God don't know how I got that roll on my hat, but damn I wish if I had gotten even one more ink saver sub to play with. The shirt however refuses to cooperate and give me a good ink saver main set. =/

Created another character just so I can practice chargers in ranked without the pressure of dropping rank to A then having to climb up using another weapon again. Chargers are so broken in the C ranks it's not even funny (actually it is because it's so ridiculously easy splatting the whole enemy team). Got to B- from C- losing only 3 games in the C- ranks.

So yeah, if you have the right weapon and gear setup, the right map awareness, the right tactics, and/or good enough skills, you can mitigate the random matchmaking easily enough in the C ranks.

Normally I rock the tinted shades, mountain vest, and black moto boots for turf war and swap out for the amiibo hairclip and pink retro sweater for splat zones since the shades' main ability is useless for that, but I tried some rerolls because I wanted at least one defense up and one swim up and I got nothing but garbage rolls for the shades so for now I'm just doing the hairclip, sweater, and boots, at least until splatfest and I get my super sea snails.

Splatfest ;_;

So was there any in-game announcement about the delay on US servers?

Nope, everything splatfest-related just disappeared with no explanation. The only thing confused players have to go by is miiverse posts talking about splatfest being delayed, which there are a lot of.

A shame. Why have a news show and never use it for actual news? Their also should be posters on the plaza with the date of the next splatfest a month in advance.

I like being a campy charger, on the downside that means living with having low score and low K/D in games where your team just dominates.

Being an aggressive charger is much more difficult though but it's certainly possible.

Anyone else lagging to hell and back tonight?

I'm killing people and then, literally, four steps later exploding when they're not anywhere on screen. I checked my connection, and I"m good on everything else. Probably doesn't help I'm usually the only non-Japanese player in the lobbies I'm getting.

Edit:

Was too close for comfort. Barely won.

Or even easier: just press "Octo Valley" on GamePad when you're on the plaza.

Welcome to the club!

Gg guys.

Thanks guys, I'll play the single-player campaign before I join you guys in multiplayer, gotta brush my skill some more before I feel confident.

Teach me how to charger GAF, I want a new thing to learn.
The most important thing for you to learn about chargers is the minimum amount of time it takes you to kill a target, and the range of that shot. For example, 3k liter takes about 60% charge to kill a target with 3x attack power and the range is about 15-20 feet (in the testing area). Another thing is learn to aim fast and once you've learn to do that, learn not to aim at your target until you've got your minimum killing charge otherwise they know you're aiming at them.

I'm sure there's other ways to play a charger but this is what I learned to become decent with them.

Last part is the truth. But know that sometimes all you want to do is to deny your opponent access to an area, not necessarily to splat them.
