Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I don't really know if ranked parties are even going to be a thing considering they don't allow you to play ranked with friends now. Somehow they would need to make sure everyone in the party is the same rank for it to work.

I hope they just have a regular splatzones mode without the ranks involved, because the mode itself is really fun when you're not worried about losing points

Hard to believe they'll keep splatzone as the only ranked mode. Once all the modes are released they either need to rotate which one is ranked every day or two and/or have each mode have a ranked and unranked mode, but I don't think there'll be enough players to keep the matchmaking quick. I want to play splatzone but sometimes I just don't want to stress about shitty teammates etc so just play turf war instead where I can just relax.

17-4 in ranked lol I think that's my new record

Still haven't broken above 50 points on Rank B though, keep going back and forth

We already know of at least two other ranked modes (Tower Control and Rainmaker), with potentially more coming after that. This is just speculation, but given the "mode" and rules prompts when you're in the multiplayer lobby, I imagine that only one ranked mode will be available at a time, switching over at the same time as stage updates. That way everyone will experience every mode at some point (unless they exclusively play Turf War) and the player-base is never fractured so far to leave the other ranked modes barren.

Been trying to get a good handle on the custom dual squelcher. Random rooms are such a crapshoot between allies who don't know what a beacon does, and enemies who obsessively hunt down every beacon I place. Still, placing them for myself seems to work out fine.

After using the charger and the roller so much, having a weapon that can ink a quick retreat path is invigorating. It's just so much easier to hassle people while behind enemy lines.

I went 20-5 last night in ranked with the carbon roller and my team almost still lost (had to win in overtime). It was on Skatepark and I just got frustrated and went absolutely ham rushing into the zone closest to the enemy base but every time I captured it my team kept letting the other team paint over our zone. I'm surprised that my neighbors didn't call the police from all the screaming and cursing >_<

I swear that I don't understand how you guys get past B rank. Between awful teammates and network errors I'm finding it impossible to get any kind of streak sustained.

Why is the Dynamo Roller so popular all of sudden?

I mean I know why, but I feel l like it took quite awhile for people to figure you could cheese the hell out of that thing. There are times in ranked when I see 5 out of 8 people using it in a match.

Comm error :{

Are the Splatfest shirts mandatory? I need to level mine up if it is.

The positive thing here is that when Nintendo sees the data that everyone is using it then it will get nerfed >:3

During the splatfest itself, wearing your team's shirt is mandatory, yes. I suppose that's why they give you the week to level it up beforehand, not that those couple of sub-abilities will be making a huge difference.

Do both teams get the same main ability on the shirt? I'm #TeamDog and it gave me Special Saver (bleh), does the cat shirt have the same?

Just had an 84.2% to 8.7% game. I feel bad for the enemy team lol.

This might be irrelevant to that game, but I wish there was a better solution for teams that lose players. Bring someone waiting in the lobby into the match if there's over a minute remaining to fill the spot for instance. I've seen a few teams start with 3 players before because some dropped while the stage intro was going. That's absurd.

I had a horrible loss like that recently. Two disconnected players and a not too good team mate vs 4 pretty good players.
Ended up stuck on my spawn point and desperate for an escape.

So this game is following me around. Went to Washington D.C. over the weekend for a family reunion, and saw this roaming around the suburbs.

WE'VE MADE IT

I walked into a train car on Thursday coming home from Manhattan and a family of 5 was there in the train talking about how they can't wait for Splat Fest.

Splatoon is truly the people's choice.

I don't know what it is about splatoon that fucks up my Wii U's internet so much but when that shit stops working the whole thing stops working. It's so weirdly consistent, like if I get kicked out of MK8 fine, I hop back in. But if I get kicked out of Splatoon sometimes it just won't let me back in until I've restarted the router or the console.

Just got home, travelling sure is tiresome :P
I'd play some matches with you guys if I didnt had to set up my WiiU again (and I'm lazy)

I got put into a 4v1 the day kelp dome released so I just farmed like 1500 points in 3 minutes and severely outscored the 4 of them

This game truck seems like it would be a fun idea if we actually had access to a console to console lan mode :(

Yeah, when I saw that I wondered what you'd be paying for. Do they have 4 Wii U's in there all hooked to WiFi and they're doing group games like what we do on GAF? Surely, it's not just 2-player Splat Zones all the time, right?

Still cool to see a Splatoon-themed truck cruising around D.C. Made me wish I was at home with my Wii U.

So the balance changes are definitely already in effect, I can already feel ninja squid being significantly slower. It's especially bad when climbing walls, you barely even move unless you mash X.

Game trucks do have internet connections, but I couldn't find any information regarding what exactly went in to the trucks themselves.

I almost grabbed one of these franchises, they do well, but initial investment is generally over 100k usually closer to 250k and then all the other crap that goes along with being a franchisee...

it would be cool if they had created a special lan mode for the trucks though.

Back the game itself...

I am going to be at a wedding away from home all next weekend, and I am almost considering some way to bring the wiiu.... Don't want to miss the splatfest. That's kind of sad

Actually, now that I took off the carbon roller I feel faster. Do rollers decrease swim speed or am I just going crazy?
Placebo effect

I don't see why they would say the patch would come out later, but do an online hotfix or something server-side (which I doubt is possible) to change things.

I am so fucking sick of being put on the opposite team from my friends

August cannot come soon enough and we should not have had to wait for August at all for something so simple
