For the record, the stuff in that 4.0 trailer is the exact same as what we got in the theater release, and it's pretty clearly rough as fuck. I'm not too worried.

Grabbing the 3.33 BD after work. I really enjoyed the movie despite some issues, especially considering how much I dislike the original series.

Since the news post was at the bottom of the last page, I'll repost this bit here:
The six volumes of Majo no Takkyūbin have been translated into eight languages. Despite the fact that both films adapt the same novel series, this live-action film has no direct connection to the Ghibli anime film. Twitch reported earlier this month that Shimizu is directing a live-action Kiki's Delivery Service film, but Ghibli denied it, saying, "We have nothing to do with it."

While I admit the info was initially incomplete, I didn't make the claim it was an adaptation of the Ghibli anime film version. People jumped to that conclusion on their own. And I'm nowhere near the only person to have done that in the anime thread before.

Ironically, the girls love it for those very reasons. They're way more outspoken about their tastes.

The guys are super shy about it though, and it's hilarious. One dude had a bunch of Asuna stickers on the inside of his pencil case, and when I mentioned SAO, he kind of freaked out a bit. Meanwhile, one of my art club girls pretty much smacked me in the face with a volume of SAO as she went on and on about how Asuna is her waifu.

I can't make this shit up.

My initial reaction was to tell you to fail her for having horrible taste in waifus, but because this is yuri related I implore you to give her an 'A' for following the true path.

Honestly, there's just not much I can do about Sword Art Online. It's ridiculously huge in the 12-16 demographic, at least as far as the books go. Even my kids who normally have good taste are eating that shit up.

I had one of my English-savvy girls read an article I wrote about SAO and why it sucked balls, and despite agreeing with everything I said, she was still all "But the female characters are so cute! And Kirito is so cool!"

I can't win.

As tsuntsun as I can be toward toonamigaf sometimes, I've neglected to mention that I was recently selected for two years of Nielsen polling and I've been giving roughly +4000 viewers in the coveted 25-34 male demographic to, uhh, I guess Bleach and Soul Eater every Saturday night. So I'm doing my part.

Also, the next set of character songs are from Leafa (even they already had a Sugu song lol) and, at long last, Kirito!

edit: I'm still betting that the character song on volume 9 will be a Kirito/Asuna duet.

There are like 3 SAO facebook groups. I can never tell which one posts which. It just pops up on my feed and I post it. lol.

Huh. It seems the entire thing was a farce from the start. Seems her dad pulled a fast one on her for some reason. Probably this whole "experiment" the narrator is talking about.

You know what? I ain't even mad. I ain't mad. I'm actually interested in seeing the last 2 episodes now. I'm glad I didn't watch this one last night cause no way I could leave it at that. But they're gonna have a hell of a time explaining how they faked those gruesome deaths and everything.
